I rated it a 4 because it’s age appropriate and everything but on my iPad it takes about 5 mins to show me how long l’ve slept
Just difficult
It’s been very difficult with this watch. I have it for my nine year-old granddaughter the notifications that come to me or not loud enough. I actually went to the Apple Store and they couldn’t help me with it either. It’s just not loud enough and my messages can’t go through. I’m unable to send voice messages anymore. It says that you can make calls on this watch. I don’t know about that at all. I don’t know if I advise anybody to get this watch you might as well get a phone.

Love the watch! However, disappointed that it only supports nine adults. When purchased that was not clear.
Great tool for our family
I was looking for an option for my son that could give me some peace of mind for allowing more independence but also a tool that my son could use. I appreciate the tracking and 2-way communication options. My son loves to be able to play music and track his miles for running and being water proof. He also appreciates the 2 way communication as he can contact me with questions or ask to be picked up earlier than planned.

I love the format,the way it’s set out and how it’s made for kids.I love the game it comes with and how it’s educational and fun
Love but Inconsistent
App is awesome for tracking the kiddo, doing chores, sending a text or call. He loves it SO much. Texts and calls don’t always seem to push through though and the requirement to use the app for that feature (when it works) is understandable but inconvenient.
Voice messages issues
I’ve been using the app to track and communicate with my daughter. Overall, it works well, but I’ve noticed a recurring issue with voice messages. After recording a message, it often gets deleted instead of being sent. Sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn’t. I hope Garmin fixes this bug in a future update.

Does not work
Impossible to send voice messgaes. The bubble just disappears almost every time. Its super frustrating and we just gave up
Great for enrolling your child for fitness
I’ve been with garmin for over 14 years and it’s a great watch for fitness and physical health improvement.i used to be always on devices and screens and garmin watches allow an escape from this and act as a great tool to fitness and not just fitness health, but as a great gadget for children’s mental health as well.i highly recommend it to any parent for their child and hope it changes their life just as much as it did mine

Has some issues
My grands have some of the watches and like them. The only frustrating part is a lot of times when we try to send a voice message to them it just won’t work completely, It randomly stops recording in the middle of the message. Or I’ll finish the message and press stop and it disappears. Also making calls to them and them to us can be very hit or miss. Sometimes it doesn’t go through, or sometimes they call and my phone isn’t alerted.
They don’t have a problem sending voice messages to us, so that part is great. Love getting those! And before you blame my age for the issues on our end, don’t because my software engineer son-in-law has the same issues. 🤣
If garmin fixes those issues it would be perfect.

Me and my kids love the. watch’s and the app! It’s so fun and calming. But on of my kids think u should add App Store to it.
New update sucks again
Gah, the new update brought back the same issue of being able to record a voice message on the phone to send to your kid. I just updated today and once again recording a voice message to my kid doesn’t work. It acts like it’s recording and timing down. Then you hit stop or send and it disappears. Before I updated this issue wasn’t happening anymore. It used to but finally worked great. Now this new update has ruined it again. When people ask me my thoughts on the watches I’m straight up and say they the parent app sucks. If you can handle the frustration go ahead…. But I would NOT buy again only because of the app

Updates erase your history - takes forever to work…
Garmin Jr. takes so long to connect to my son’s watch that it’s more beneficial to go out looking on my own.
Messages take so long to be delivered, it’s often the next day either of us receive them.
Last updates wiped my entire text history.
