Updates erase your history - takes forever to work…
Garmin Jr. takes so long to connect to my son’s watch that it’s more beneficial to go out looking on my own.
Messages take so long to be delivered, it’s often the next day either of us receive them.
Last updates wiped my entire text history.
This would all be fine in 2015. But it’s 2026…

This has been a great tool for our 8 year old to gain some independence. Going to a new camp it’s also been so helpful to stay connected during the day
Not receiving message notifications through the app anymore.
I love that I can see my child’s whereabouts and communicate with them. For the past few months, my child has been sending messages and maybe the app isn’t working properly? I am not notified of the message and only know it’s there if I go into the app where before, the message would come through as a notification. I’ve tried updates and reconnecting and nothing has changed. A little disappointed in the app/product.

Location won’t work
If you’re hoping to be able to see where your kid is with this watch think again. It will not work when you need it to. Messages do not send right away and may not send at all. Tracking will pick one location if the kid is moving around and stick there. Live tracking does not work while trying to locate kid. Can’t recommend.

Decent, not good.
If you’re buying the watch and paying the subscription just note messages and location only works about 20% of the time. We’re urban area and I thought it would work but it doesn’t. Doesn’t location track and messages are delayed if delivered at all. I don’t recommend and I’d return if I had the option.
It does work for tracking activity and steps. But a less $$ watch and no subscription would do that too.

My 7 year old son has loved syncing his Vivofit watch to the app each night in order to collect his gems, badges and icons. We have completed all levels, and it has just started again from the beginning. Would be fantastic if there were more levels so that the adventure could continue!

Unreliable
It’s ok. The location notifications come in a few minutes after the fact. Internal messaging doesn’t work. I cannot record and send a message. But, I can receive. I’ve uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. Still doesn’t work. Prob because I’m on an iPhone 13. Regardless, it should be better. I’m not impressed.

Not reliable at all!
I bought the Bounce 2 for my son thinking that I’d be able to reliably track him, especially when he’s out with friends. The app has been so unreliable. We haven’t even had it for a year and I can’t trust the app to do what it’s supposed to. My calls rarely get connected and messages don’t go through all the time. Seriously makes me wish I’d have just gone with the Apple Watch because at least I know it would’ve worked with my phone.

Advice to make the watch better
You should get better at tracking the weather and make them be connected to your phone
Good product
Ability to communicate with my kids without them having a phone is great. Perimeter notifications are great. Slight delay with messages sometimes.
Unfortunately unreliable
I really wanted this to be a good solution to my kid not having a phone and me being able to track and communicate with him. Unfortunately it’s not. Some days, and in some really important moments, it just decides not to work, not to track, not to send messages. I don’t understand how it has the ratings it does.

Got this for my six year old grandson it’s the first thing that’s made him put his iPad down so he can get his steps in he’d rather go for a walk now than sit on a console playing games paired with the garmin jr watch it’s been fantastic the little challenges we’ve set up that earns him coins have also improved his behaviour as misbehaving costs him his hard earned coins

Great watch! Occasionally we have issues with the text feature not working and also delays with the locator ability but overall we love the Garmin Jr.
