About

Gentle Signals answers one question each morning: are you overreaching? Everything else in the app is about what to do with that answer. MEASURED AGAINST YOUR OWN NORMAL Today's resting heart rate is compared with your own recent weeks, never a population average. 58 means nothing on its own; four beats above your month does. You get one word — Recovered, Steady, Strained or Overreaching — and what to do about it. Tap Why? for the training load, sleep and HRV behind it. THE DAYS AHEAD Today shows how days like this usually play out for you: back to normal by Friday if you ease off, or still above it next week if you keep training. Learned from your own past days, and hidden until there are enough of them. GUESS FIRST, THEN LOOK Each morning, say how your body feels before you see the answer. The app keeps score, so over the weeks you learn to read yourself. Skip it any day, or turn it off. WHAT EVERY WORKOUT DID TO YOU Each workout shows what it did to you over the next three days — sleep that night, then resting heart rate, HRV and readiness each morning — against your normal and what that kind of session usually does. Over time you see which kinds help you recover. PREVIEW A WORKOUT, THEN CHECK IT On a day above your normal, preview a session or a rest day and see when you would be back to normal, from your own past days like today. Plan one, and tomorrow see how it went. GOALS THAT KNOW WHEN TO EASE OFF Daily goals for steps, time in daylight, effort minutes and more, with today, your 7-day average and your usual range on one line. On a day above your normal, the step goal eases and effort minutes pause until you are back. YOUR DIARY, AND WHAT YOUR TAGS DO TO YOU A calendar of your days, with notes. Tag what Health cannot see — a hard week, a late dinner, a hotel bed, a new medication — on any day, past or present. Choose a tag and its days light up, and below, what the next day looked like after it across eight measures. Clear differences are shown in colour; everything else is plainly marked "no clear difference". ONLY WHAT IS CLEAR ABOUT YOU Across a hundred metrics, coincidences are everywhere. So nothing appears until it has enough days, stands out from your day-to-day noise, and is big enough to act on. Comparisons are chosen in advance for a reason; the app never sweeps your data for anything that lines up. TEST A HUNCH Pick two things you think are connected and see your days as dots. The app counts your hunches and tells you the chance one looks real by accident. YOUR WEEK, EVERY SUNDAY Your week against your normal, your quickest return to it, what moves you most, and how well you read yourself. Share it as an image. CYCLE-AWARE Resting heart rate runs higher after ovulation, which a flat average would read as strain. With three or more cycles logged, today is compared with the same phase of past cycles. AND THE REST Over a hundred Apple Health metrics, each with its history and an explanation. Home and lock screen widgets that never show sample data. Light and dark mode. NOTHING LEAVES YOUR PHONE No account, no sign-up, no servers, no analytics, no tracking. The app has no networking code in it at all. Your health data is read from Apple Health and worked out on the device. WHAT YOU NEED An iPhone, and an Apple Watch (or another source of resting heart rate and HRV) worn to bed. Your normal takes a week of nights to learn; workout insights and discoveries a few weeks more, and each says how close it is. Gentle Signals is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or monitor any condition. If something concerns you, talk to a doctor.
