App

Needs an update as not showing recorded quakes.

Useless APP

Why since upgrade does the app close when wanting to look at felt reports.
It just like it force closed. Thereโ€™s absolutely no point in having this app anymore. I know ur not going to give me answer soโ€ฆ.. was a great app now useless!! ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฌ

Notifications donโ€™t work

For ages we get no notifications even when alerts are setup and notifications are enabled. I compared with 3 others who also use the app and they have same issue. It never gets resolved.

Hard to Read

Please support dark mode. The blazing white pages with tiny black text are hard to read.

Exact position

Why canโ€™t we have the latitude and longitude of the earthquake.

Maori

Didnโ€™t need the Maori language added

Extremely useful

Extremely useful app especially living in Wellington. Can I please request adding โ€œcritical alert notificationโ€ so I can get a warning while itโ€™s in silent mode or in focus mode please?

Useless for reporting quake intensity

Whenever I submit a quake it just spins for minutes - end up having to close the app. If you donโ€™t have the capacity to receive intensity reports then donโ€™t offer it as an option.

Notifications don't work for many years

I've been emailing them since last year, that the notifications don't work since at least 2-3 years now. Haven't gotten any reply. Tried calling since December but only go to voicemail. Terrible support.

Love this app but one thingโ€ฆ

The app is great, thank you for it.
However the one thing that is annoying is that when you set alerts for quake sensitivity there is no way to save that setting so that it stays there permanently.
As soon as you exit the app then return it defaults back to week.
You shouldnโ€™t have to keep the app running permanently in the background to maintain the settings as that is one more drain on batteries.
If that could be fixed as far as Iโ€™m concerned the app is perfect.

Face lift and Apple Watch app

Iโ€™m giving this 5 stars because itโ€™s a good app to get information from quakes but I think needs an new facelift and give Apple Watch users app to check quakes in the area

Alerts/ advisories and routine information

The site, while useful and interesting could in my opinion improve by segregating the alerts it sends out to be genuine alerts/advisories and separate the routine activity of providing reports/updates and background information.

Getting a lot of unnoticeable data

Iโ€™ve had this app for well over 10+years and it has been amazing. For the last 2 or so years I have struggled to get some of the earthquakes that I have selected over light and above. What I do get. And have had today alone approx 8 unnoticeable earthquakes! Others I know do not get these on their app. And then when I do refresh. I get some that occurred yesterday that are over my weak and above. Yet I donโ€™t get those notifications when they do occur. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. But it is still the same for me. What has changed? I am sick of my phone notifying me of irrelevant earthquakes as I do not feel I should get those!

Pushes non-urgent โ€œstoriesโ€

This app is great, except that thereโ€™s no way to opt out of their newsletter spam without completely disabling notifications, which completely defeats the purpose of having a quake alert app.

I get that you want to write newsletters and articles, and thatโ€™s great. Can you get that Iโ€™m not remotely interested in them and let me disable push notifications for them?

Only in New Zealand you say? Pity!

Subject tells it all.
Seems like a marvellous app, but is limited to New Zealand only. Pity!

Fast and always working

I can go to the app 5 seconds after an earthquake and the details are there. It seems to handle lots of people using it at the same time.

Not Updating

I have an apple watch and im getting notified on that when there is an earthquake over 5 as I have filtered but its not showing on the app on my phone. I can refresh several times and it wont show up. I have played around with the settings but nothing works. My app is up to date. It will eventually show up but usually hours later

No longer shared with me

I use my app all the time, keep a track of all the activities around NZ, however, tried to check this morning and itโ€™s no longer shared with me - can you tell me why please?

Inaccurate

Prefer USGS over geonet for NZ quakes. This is inaccurate and magnitudes change all the time

False alerts

I keep getting alerts saying earthquake with unnoticeable shaking near Whanganui. Alerts come in once a week at random times.
