Requires “Always” location sharing, otherwise a 5-star app
The app seems to do its job and do it very reliably, however it requires location services to be set to always. Please at least give pro users the option to not have location services always on, instead allowing us to open the app and leave it open in the background.

The way Sony should have worked
Amazing app. After now more than a year of use, it has never let me down. A very shame that Sony couldn’t get their things together.
Perfect App while travelling
Geotag Alpha is the perfect companion for my Sony Alpha 7C II while traveling. The connection is fast, stable, and extremely reliable — exactly what you want on the go. Geotagging works flawlessly and makes organizing photos afterwards much easier. For me, the app is absolutely worth the money.
Gives me renewed hope in iOS apps
I never bother to leave reviews on apps but honestly this one is such a breath of fresh air - does precisely what it purports to do, extremely well, for a fair one off price. Has worked flawlessly with my A7V since the first time I paired it. No apparent effect on battery on either my phone or the camera. Pairs incredibly rapidly with the camera when it’s turned on. Not having geotags on every pic has been such a pain for “proper” photos compared to phone snaps and this app solves it in one easy stroke. Bravo.

Works without opening app (A7RV)
This works flawlessly on the Sony A7RV. I set it up once. My photos are geotagged. There’s no need to open app every time I use the camera. It just happens. Brilliant. Definitely worth the small price.
Way too expensive
Way too expensive for what it offers. The app is not updated to the recent iOS redesign.
Another five star rating
My only regret with switching from Canon to Sony for my primary camera was the Sony app and its inability to reliably record GPS data on my photos. This app solves that problem perfectly. While I would have preferred not to have to pay extra for this functionality, it was an excellent investment as I can count on getting GPS data on every image.

Clean, Polished and Reliable
I love the clean, native iOS design of this app - it just works, without any of the extra nonsense of Sony's first-party apps. It offers a great demo mode to make sure it works with your camera before you spend anything, and I've found it easy and reliable. It can even correct the time and time zone of your camera automatically, which is super helpful (I always forget to do it manually before a trip).

Miles ahead of the Sony Creator’s App tagging, it’s best to check if your camera has the location symbol on the HUD when you turn it on, that shows that everything is working as intended.
As for the developer, i feel like when there’s been a few weeks, without turning on the camera, it fails to pair with the phone. It sounds like its more an apple/sony issue, but I’ll mention it here.

Reliable, always connects. Don’t need to think about it. Worth the money!

It just works
I’ve been using Geotag since the beginning within Testflight. It is simple and straightforward and does its job reliably for Sony A1. Far better than SONY’s Creator’s app that constantly ask to access your Photo app library which I don’t need nor want it to do. Geotag works for both my A1 and A7RM4 without fuss. Big thumbs up. 👍

Very expensive
It’s way too expensive for what it is… I don’t see myself adding another subscription to an app i’ll never own. Nor paying 50€+ for such a simple app.
