I like it
This app is great! I I was a brigade member and I loved it. Going into the archives, listening to some of my favorite artist play the music that influenced them. I don’t know there’s just something really special about that to me is sometimes has some issues, but this app has turned me onto so much new metal and actual metal. I could not recommend this app enough to any metalhead out there.

Just what I need
More than just a station that plays what I love, Gimme Metal is a community that introduces me to new music. The app is seamless, and I have had zero hiccups on my laptop or my iphone.
Bringing metal to the masses
I was in the brigade since december 2018 and stopped paying for it in july 2021. And I only stopped because I never received the member patch after three attempts to contact them. Other than that…they mostly play nothing but grandpa metal or mainstream garbage. No disrespect to the founders but there is literally tons of metal bands not getting enough attention. I understand some stuff cannot be played because of licensing issues and what have you. But I see way too much attention for bands that get plenty of support already. Every once and awhile they have djs that play decent death and black metal but hardly ever. For what it is, it’s a great idea; just poorly executed.

Great service, terrible UX
I love GimmeMetal. Especially when it feels like there’s someone behind the wheel updating content in a timely manner. Sadly, that’s not the case. It can feel like an abandoned wasteland most of the time. It can take weeks or months for the vault to be updated with DJ shows once they’ve aired. And do you like the ability to search for content? I guess GimmeMetal doesn’t agree with you because there’s no search functionality at all. Be prepared for endless scrolling on a slow loading UI. For what I pay monthly on top of the vinyl subscription, I expect better and hope the folks over at GimmeMetal get more serious about the UX and updating material with a purpose.

There’s no competition
This station is by far the best metal station ever. I love that nearly every sub genre of metal is represented, and you aren’t subjected to hits we’ve all heard a million times, they are played sparingly. I also love that there are DJ’s, it’s nice to hear them voice their opinions and share metal experiences. Another great thing, is that they archive their shows.

Finally an offering curated by actual fans for fans!! We will never have a day when metal and all of its sub genres will be played day and night on FM radio so these kind folks gave us gimmie radio and I am beyond thankful that this station exists and I tell all of my pals about it..I’ve discovered many new bands because of gimme too which is the best part about it Regardless if it’s hidden under a rock relics or up-and-coming Titans still waving the flag and keeping the flame burning..I used to discover new music through magazines and college radio but that’s out of sight and has been for a while ever since I left the bay area and college radio where I live is lame sauce 10,000 leagues under the sea. Keep up the amazing work🤘

Jose Mangin became obsolete overnight
SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal is so 2012. This new service (to me) is everything I’ve been seeking and not finding for a long time now. The marketplace is awash in labels, sub-genres, and press outlets. Where to make sense of it all?? Gimme has something for everyone—in particular I enjoy weekly programs by Will Carroll, Jessica Pimental, “Mega” Dave Mustaine (say what you will about the man, but he _is_ the founding father of thrash guitar and he has impeccable musical taste), and Matt Bacon’s essential Stoner Home Companion, among others—and that is not a back-handed compliment, either. The programming is rich and diverse, and if there is any criticism at all to be proffered it is that there are perhaps _too many_ programs, and sometimes it is not easy to tell apart the reruns from the new episodes. (I prefer always to listen to new episodes LIVE.) To sum up, this is a GREAT, free service, so much so I signed up for the Gimme Metal Vinyl Club _and_ the monthly tee-shirt Club. It has built up a devoted, solid community, substantial and real. All the foregoing, by the way, is coming from a jaded, old-school, been-in-the-business-in-LA-for-over-half-my-life lifer. Horns up and excellent work, Gimme. To the prospective listener: Download the app, immerse yrself in the programming and the community, and don’t miss out. Gimme Metal has enriched my fandom. And in the process, Jose Mangin became obsolete overnight.

What a find!
Great music on here. Some old stuff I’d forgotten about and some new stuff I’m hearing for the first time. My only problem with it is, I’d like to see more channels added. Regardless, it’s a great app

I’ve only been on this app for a week, I really enjoy the shows, the fact that there is no corporate commercials, the station is about the bands, the music, and you can buy the albums of the songs they play, as a means to support the artists. Plus in the chat section you can meet other metal heads from around the world
