What's New in Glass

5.5.0

September 10, 2026

We’ve fixed the photo pull-down gesture so closing a photo returns you to Explore or Notifications without a blank screen or missing navigation. Turning off Show Series Preview in Appearance now keeps the stacked-photos fully hidden as you scroll. Highlight detail pages got a bit of polish. Oh, and swiping through alternate app icons is smoother as well.

Exquisite

For me personally, being far from a platform that is a melting pot of everything(IG) away from photos and groups (Flickr) away from AI based only (500px) is worth the money that I’m paying(no Ads). This platform gives you a sharing photos experience only(no dumb size cropping required to post). Is clear that those who’s working behind LOVE PHOTOGRAPHY.
Honestly I was such an enthusiastic one, after a period of time, but slowly I’ve started to understand how does it works. If you get in, you have to have lots of fake smiles to gift everyone who works behind the screen just for having a peace of time with photography. You have to follow all, as if they were Master from Magnum agency, but you have to discover by yourself who they are. It’s a seek and hide game, if you miss one, well that’s pretty much of it. You’re out or less considered. If you became patron they won’t see you as a client who is paying they favorite hobby’salary , they just need attention, as photographers , but especially for the huge work they’re doing behind. lol enjoy.

Response from developer

We love to hear that. So glad to hear you’re finding a lot of value from us!

Deutsche Übersetzung

Nach 5 Jahren, hätte ich mir eine deutsche Übersetzung der App gewünscht.

Response from developer

Incredible community

The single best social media platform for photographers. From street to wildlife to abstract.

Fantastic Photographic Community!

If you care about photography Glass is an incredible place to share your photos. It’s ad and algorithm free. Just photos displayed beautifully and supportive, positive dialog with other photographers. No “look at me and how great my life is” posts/reels/etc.

One critique

I’m learning and enjoying so much from others’ photo perspectives. And I do really appreciate that Glass is not intended as a mass storage space as it refines the choices of what is posted. I just wonder though if others too would like it if it was possible to upload even just two photos at a time without having to make it a series .. rather than the current limit of one.

Response from developer

We appreciate the feedback! As I'm sure you've read, we currently have one upload at a time to promote a more mindful, less fast-paced sharing experience. However, your vote in this direction does help us keep a pulse on what members find helpful. Thank you!
