About

Glimpy is a calculator, reversed: your child does the math. For ages 5 to 10, from preschool and year 1 through year 4 of primary school. Five carefully structured levels progress from addition and subtraction to 30 through all four operations in the number range to 1,000. No ads, no subscription, no data collection. The first 100 problems are free. Like the small handheld trainers of the 1970s: one problem, real keys, nothing to wander off to. Glimpy poses the question; the child types the answer. There is no equals key — Glimpy knows how many digits the answer needs and checks as soon as they are typed. The five levels grow with the learning journey: Level 1 · preschool / year 1: addition and subtraction only, to 30. Level 2 · early year 2: all four operations to 70; introduction to the small tables through 10 × 10 and matching exact divisions. Level 3 · later year 2: all four operations to 100; consolidation of the complete small tables and division facts. Level 4 · year 3: number range to 1,000, large tables through 20 × 20, plus approachable multiplication and exact division with one-digit factors and divisors. Level 5 · year 4: more demanding problems to 1,000 that are still deliberately designed for mental calculation. Multiplication and division use recognisable strategies and compatible numbers instead of arbitrary written calculations. This broad sequence follows a progression common to primary curricula across many industrialised countries. Exact timing varies by country, school and child, so ages and school years are a guide rather than an assessment. Normal rounds mix the operations intended for the selected level. Use the 1×1 key to focus on one chosen operation and number for a whole round. The display clearly indicates when focused practice is active. Each round is ten problems. Correct answers light up stars. Missed problems are remembered so you can practise just those later. Progress, practice time and the miss list stay on this device. Glimpy Pro is a lifetime deal: one purchase, unlimited practice. No subscription, no recurring payments. Unlimited practice is for one child; each extra child profile is its own one-time purchase. Family Sharing is supported. No account, no ads, no tracking. Practice does not need a network connection.

New: five clearly structured learning levels for children aged 5 to 10. • Level 1 practises addition and subtraction to 30. • Levels 2 and 3 introduce all four operations to 70 and 100, including the small tables. • Level 4 moves to 1,000, the large tables and approachable calculation methods. • Level 5 adds more challenging multiplication and division that remain deliberately suitable for mental math. • Normal rounds now reliably mix the intended operations. • The 1×1 mode shows its selection on the display and correctly keeps the chosen operation and number. • The Guide explains every level and number range in detail in English and German.
