What??

You’re asking me to rate this app 2 mins after down loading it????

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback, and we hope you'll enjoy the app after trying it out a bit!

Difficult to edit meals

I like the concept but I’ve tried to edit the content of two meals and it is not user friendly. One I had to type in several times before it was correct, and I still can’t correct the second one.

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback! We're always working to improve the editing experience. Could you let us know which food item you're having trouble correcting? You can reach us at support@glycemicsnap.com we'd like to look into it and get it sorted for you.

Questionable accuracy

The app doesn’t seem to be able to factor portion size very well. I did some test with my pizza recipe. The first gave me a GL of 25 solely because of the refined dough. So I dropped the amount of dough in the recipe, but the GL didn’t change. It gave me the same GL when I entered 54g of dough, when I entered 0.5g of dough, and even when I entered 0g of dough. I also tested it by entering a ridiculously high amount of tomatoes (500g). That also didn’t change the result. Then when I looked at the nutritional info, that just didn’t make sense. My pizza with 54g dough was listed as having 280 calories. The one with 0.5g was listed as 250 calories. I’m pretty sure 54g of refined bread dough has more than 30 calories.

There are other glitches too, like when you scan a box of crackers, the app thinks you are going to eat the whole box. And sometimes you get nonsensical results- 20g of tomato basil wheat thins has a higher GL than 30g?

I just don’t trust the information I get.

Plus it is t super easy to use. You can’t go back and edit any of the recipes or manually entered meals. You have to do an entirely new entry. And you can’t even copy the previous entry. And when you ask the AI something (ex- add a salad to my meal) it will tell you something (ex- yes, that will drop the glycemic load) but it won’t recalculate the meal.

Honestly, you can’t get the same info from google

Response from developer

Thanks for the detailed feedback — you've raised valid points. You're right that changing ingredient amounts should update the GL and calorie numbers. Currently the analysis is calculated once and the chat can't recalculate when you modify portions. The packaged food issue (assuming the whole box) and the inability to edit meals are also problems we're aware of. Our next update will fix all of these. Feel free to reach out at support@glycemicsnap.com if you'd like to know when it's live.

Forced planning actions

I simply wanted an app that could quickly search and identify glycemic index of various foods. This stupid thing required an extensive set up of a profile that I was not interested in. I never even got to a state where I could search for glycemic information.

Response from developer

The brief onboarding helps calibrate the app to your profile so scan results and GI data are more accurate for you. It takes about 60 seconds, and you can start searching and scanning glycemic values immediately after.

Too new

Thanks for downloading Glycemic Snap! We'd love for you to give the app a spin — try scanning a meal or snacking on the Smart Swap suggestions — and update your review once you've had a chance to explore. We're here if you have any questions!

The search is so bad..

This app would be 5 stars if the search would work, I search for an egg & the results are every food cooked with eggs but not a simple egg, searched for an apple, again, every meal that contains apples yet it won’t find just a simple apple alone

Thanks for your feedback! We've completely rebuilt the app from the ground up — it's essentially a brand new app now. Snap a photo of any meal to instantly see the glycemic index, glycemic load, and predicted blood sugar curve, plus get smart food swaps to reduce spikes. We'd love for you to give it another try!

Glycemic Load? Index?

Can’t get basic information for common foods. Bad app, will be deleted.

Trop simplifié pour le moment

Manque un index plus simple pour les recettes

Response from developer

Low sugar food

It's explains what food you can eat , to help you lose fat or lower sugar levels for all ages!!!

The ideas there

I love the idea of this but the execution is horrible. There are many missing GL number, the pictures are horrible and the meals it gives you would starve even the hardcore calorie counter (not realistic). Disappointed.

No search function

The description says ‘1000s’ or recipes but there seems to be no search function or index. There was a filter where you can select meal, eg breakfast lunch dinner and snack, but despite me selecting dinner it was still coming up with all sorts, mostly lunches.
With no way to search for things, eg chicken, and no index, the app is useless. I can’t just mindlessly scroll through every single recipe

No GI scores!

What’s the point in this app? It’s a low GI recipe app and yet the first four recipes have no GI scores!
