This photos app is so amazing that I will almost NEVER use apple photos again. I can seamlessly transfer photos between my phone and computer, and the AI eraser and awesome editing settings absolutely transform my photos. (Who needs Apple Intelligence

Won’t work if you don’t allow it access to ‘photos’.
There are a couple of problems with this app, that you don’t find out about until after you save photos to it. 1) If you only have the ‘free’ amount of course it limits the photos that can be stored. To add more, you have to pay for additional storage. I only wanted the free account, and now my Gmail keeps giving me messages that “Your storage is full” (I am very close). If you go to the limit on your storage, the email stops working until you pay to upgrade … you won’t be able to receive or send new emails! 2) Because of #1, I denied access to my photos (I didn’t want to ‘save’ any more and go over my limit). Now, ‘photos’ won’t work … I can’t view or download them anywhere else! It tells me it has to have access to my photos!

No longer separate by day
Latest update destroyed basic gallery navigation, removed date headers and forced random photo sizes with no toggle to disable. So difficult to find photos!!

Very slow to do anything
For some reason the app has become super slow and is bugging. Gets stuck on the loading state multiple times where i have to restart the app and re do what i was trying in the first place - which can be as simple as adding ONE photo to an album. The collections don’t load - albums I created disappear and alot more. I don’t usually write reviews but I use this app religiously and frankly it’s not been the best experience recently. I’m concerned I’ll end up loosing my saved photos if the app is bugging so much and i have photos saved on here from atleast 20 years ago if not more!

Google Photos is a Trojan Horse
To anyone who chooses to use Google Photos, be warned that Google intentionally makes it near impossible to access your own photos without allowing its tendrils into the rest of your data.
I can’t access any of my old photos without enabling full permissions which then in turns makes it so it auto-uploads all of your new photos. This is by design.
All I want is to view my old photos in Google Photos—simple, right? But no. Google forces you to enable all permissions just to do this. It deceitfully tricked me into syncing new photos against my will. You people are the lowest form of corporate scum. Why can’t I just sign in and see the photos I’ve already backed up without being coerced into granting full access.

Great photo backup app
Easy to use and good suggestions to make photos better. Please add markup tool similar to Apple Photos app option.
Crashing and not instagram friendly
This app causes me headaches every single day. I got an originally as a alternative to Apple photos due to being more cost-effective however, I should’ve figured why it was cheaper for extra storage because this app cannot handle a large amount of photos. If I want to access any photos from a few months ago two years ago, it will take me several tries to actually reach the photo without the app crashing. It causes me a headache nearly every day I want to send someone a photo or even post something to Instagram is the biggest pain of my life. It also does not work well with Instagram. It does not allow you to post I think more than 10 photos directly to Instagram so if you do wanna do one of those big 20 photo post, you have to re-download the Photos, which is another pain and half the time it crashes and half the time it doesn’t work. For being an photo storage app it is constantly crashing while trying to look at photos and half the time it doesn’t even work. Oh but don’t worry they have 20 million other pointless features that you can use. Oh, but the most needed uses are unavailable.
