The fact connecting this so difficult and keeping it connected makes this smoker as a whole so much worse.
Garbage
Just like everybody says, absolute garbage. Never connects , and when it finally does, it disconnects. Absolute waste. It was a selling point for my smoker. Beyond aggravated and disappointed. Should have bought a Trager

Can’t even log in because the app refuses to send verification email making the app completely useless

Good enough
The good: The app does provide ability to remotely mange and get status on the smoker. Virtually all options available via panel are available in app through settings. 👍
The bad: whether the app or Mammoth, but this constantly disconnects. Not WiFi as I have other devices operating at further distances in same direction. Logic for temp range alarms don’t turn off when grill is turned off. So alarms will continue to alert. Rather they should disable once cook ends. Login is little clunky in that it constantly prompts. Saving login helps but the auth portion of app needs to better cache to improve experience.
Feature request:
1) Fix temp range alarms to deactivate once cook it ended. 2) add iOS Live Activities to display realtime cook data (temp, duration and probes).
3) add counter to track cooks. Include: date, cook temps (timeseries please!), probe temps (timeseries), open field for what was cooked. The timeseries data can be intervals of 5 or 10 minutes.
4) Add ability to remotely power on with additional warning confirmation. Power on would be nice so while prepping food, the smoker can get up to temp making for a better cooking experience.

Not connecting, again, after multiple calls and help from a tech.
I’ve called Grilla grill about the problem a few times. They told me it had to do with 2.4 not 5.0 connection. We have both. So I had a really savvy internet technician come out who set up the grill with a dedicated 2.4 specifically for the grill. This guy knows his stuff. He’s set up whole house, and does internet/computer tech work for a living. A booster is within approx 10 feet of the grill. It worked for a full day, yet here I am back to the same problem of it not connecting. The problem is definitely not my internet. I have no other problems with any other device in the house. I like the grill but the app is useless. So now I go out every few minutes to check the temperature. Oh, the plug in thermometer which came with the grill is off by 20 degrees. I tested it against a thermapen and a regular meat thermometer. The tech got it working. But since I updated to the newest iPhone it’s quit working again. Gotta call the tech again and drop some more money on this app and grill.

Can’t login anymore
Just like the other said. App is worthless.
Ok at best
Easy to adjust temp from the app. Thats about it. Timer doesn’t do anything, no alerts/notifications when time is up. Some videos say start grill from app, not possible.
Cheap Wi-Fi Controller
Cheap Wi-Fi controller. The app is great when it connects. This is due to extremely cheap components. There is NO reason outside of being CHEAP to not have a 2.4/5Ghz Wi-Fi controller.
App is garbage
Not sure why they even have an app. Had to spend an hour connecting it, for it to work for 3 weeks, then for it to stop working during my Christmas Eve brisket. Do NOT buy this smoker if you want a working WiFi app.

Horrible Connectivity
I’ve had my Grilla for a few years now and as much as I love my pellet smoker the WiFi connectivity is the absolute worst! Why sell a WiFi enabled grill when it constantly drops the connection. Every time I use the grill I have to spend at least 30 minutes trying to get the darn thing to reconnect. I’m to the point now I may sell it. The worst part is that EVERYONE has this issue yet they’ve done NOTHING to address it! So much for customer service and loyalty!

Keep off VPN
Works for what i need. For those getting Network Error or connection issues with the app itself, make sure you are not on a vpn.
No program function
Pro: The app connect to the smoker with temperature reading and able to change temperature remotely.
Con: lost connection from time to time. Not able to program temperature profile by timer or reached target as available from other brand name pellet grills at the similar price range.

Some features are broken
The good: easy to use, clean navigation, allows easy temp changes and pellet control settings. Notifications work well for grill startup and shutdown.
The bad: while it's easy to set target temp for the meat probe and timers, the notifications do not work.

Actual Temps TOO SMALL
Why are the actual temperature value text size 0.5? Huge user experience upgrade if the text was the same size as the set point.
App is horrible
If I want to use the app with my smoker, I have to create a new profile every single time and re-add it with Bluetooth and wifi. If I try to just sign in, it will show a connection error. The app should be awesome and the handful of time I went out of my way to re-add, it was great. I guess I will just write this app off for now and will keep checking for updates.

Terrible
Same issue as everyone else. The app is terrible and impossible to stay connected to the internet. Constantly getting disconnected or not being able to connect at all. Grill is within 15’ of a 2.4 WiFi router. I tried working with customer support but they kept insisting that it was my internet connection being the problem. Terrible company with a terrible smoker. I should have listened to the past reviews before wasting money on this.

Update the instructions to accommodate the new panel. Alpha connect will not connect to my 2.4 wifi.
App no longer works
The app worked initially when I bought it over a year ago but now I can’t even login due network error. Grilla grills had good reviews for their customer service but this app is hurting their product and reputation. When I’m in the market for a new grill, I will consider other option just because this app is a feature I want for my grill - to monitor my cooking remotely from my phone.
