Poor Option for Weight Loss
Was referred by my GP to Gro Health to use it for weight loss. The app is extremely counter intuitive, does not accurately track data from Apple HealthKit, and there are no male coaches available at all on the app. In fact there are a grand total of 4 available. The scanner doesn’t work accurately meaning you’re better off doing it yourself as there is zero support in place for anybody using this app.
I’m so disappointed as it promised a lot but delivered on pretty much nothing.
I’ll see through my 12 weeks as best I can, but so far I have made zero progress using this app.

Glitches in app
I got a free version of this app through my GP, and I thought I would give it a go as the description made me believe my health tracking would be easy. However app issues have meant the opposite. Part of the reason I hate tracking calories is typing in every single ingredient, so I got really excited by the adding by voice description or photo. Neither function work. In addition, it is meant to track my activity and sleep from Fitbit so I don’t have to enter these again. However, despite it saying I’m connected and synced with Fitbit, neither of these features are updating. Very disappointing by and it means I don’t want to use it anymore.
However I will rate the customer service. I wouldn’t call it prompt, but they are friendly, super helpful, and really try to work out the issues.

Limited
I have found the food logging very limited. There is no option to add in food intolerances if you forgot when registering not that it makes any difference as suggested menu included foodstuffs logged!
Also appears to be limited to which health apps it links to meaning duplication adding activities.

Good, needs work
There are a lot of good things about this app. There is a great video library of advice about all sorts of lifestyle things like nutrition, sleep, mindset etc. There is also a library of exercise videos covering stretches & cooldowns, cardio, strength exercises etc. This is a really good start & I’d give it more stars if was just an education app. However the thing that brings this down is attention to detail and the food diary functionality.
If you have used Myfitnesspal or MyNetDiary, you will find the food diary really clunky & frustrating. You can only add one item at a time and the database is limited, with limited options (e.g. weight options that don’t relate to portion size or pack size). You can add new items but the app doesn’t recognise decimals as numbers, so you have to round up or down to the nearest gram. This is not accurate enough for small portions, like if you would only use a tablespoon.
You can’t add your own recipes so if you want to add recipe ingredients, you have to painstakingly add the ingredients, one at a time, doing a complicated calculation to work out how much of each ingredient is in a single portion and how you record this weight with the limited weight options in the food database. You can save this as a meal to use again, but life is too short tbqh.
I’m following one of the meal plans and the recipes are not in their recipe database and 2 of the main meals I have made so far have ingredients listed that aren’t referred to in the method. These things would have been picked up if the plans/recipes had been properly tested.
I could go on & will be happy to chat with developers if you are interested as I’d love to see this made more user friendly.
