The ad I was presented with on Instagram was to learn astronomy ‘like Duolingo, but for astronomy’. First of all, it’s not Duolingo at all, because you’re immediately hit with a subscription trial which isn’t even optional, so this app isn’t free. And to top it all off it’s filled with generative AI so you can’t even be bothered to hire someone to make the visuals. And everything else information wise is most likely all AI. To make things even worse, there isn’t even astronomy on here! When you get asked what subjects you want to learn, the only science subject I was given was psychology, and right after that I was told to sign up for a trial before paying £10 a week. That is robbery, who the hell is paying £10 a week for an app to learn. Like another reviewer has mentioned, do your own research, learn with Google or any other resource which is actually free. Theres a lot to improve on with this app. Here are my suggestions: get rid of your generative AI, make the trial optional and include a free version where you can still learn like Duolingo and bring people to like it but the premium version might include some extra content + advanced learning. Overall, you might have to rework the whole app for it to be more likeable.
