So slow

Sometimes it’s so slow to load, which can be super frustrating at 2am when you need to make adjustments immediately so you don’t lose your mind.

This app is so bad

Honestly, for the fact of how expensive the Hatch device is and then the subscription to actually use it, the quality of this app is atrocious and ridiculous in this day and age. Trying to set the alarms, I have to completely close and open the app 3-4 times just to get it to work. I do love the Hatch but this app is embarrassingly bad

Offline situation

I got this for Christmas in December, it worked perfectly until I stopped using it for a bit, and now it won’t let me get it back online. I’ve tried everything and it’s still not working like it used to…

I think we’re past the issues w/ the iOS 26 jump

8/2/26
I must be in another loop where I have to update my phone. Hatch has disconnected. I cannot get it connected to WiFi to connect the app. It’s frustrating that is so depends on the wifi connection. Since I wake up at different times week to week, I just shut off the alarm with the hard switch. It wil still my windown routine at 9:00 PM, and the two other ones I set up after. I can still have my waves overnight. But still, it’s not working as intended. I hate that 1 update or me owning an SE Apple phone causes me to have an app breaking experience. Sigh.

Update since the developers reached out to me: Five stars, all is well. I have Rise set to wake a little later just in case. But so far Hatch has woken me up every day. I didn’t even remember that I was having an issue!

I like the cue setting. I’d like it more if we could rotate through presets like we do with the bedtime routines. Sometimes I just want to push play.

I have 3 bedtime routines and I love it. One I use every night, the others are a different vibe, brightness and length if I want to switch it up or use on the weekends. Having a strict 10 min + 10 min routine is helping me get sleepy. Then on the weekends, I can relax a little longer.

I didn’t know if this would end up feeling like a gimmick. I think the jury is still out on things like blue blockers, but as someone with ADHD, 4 concussions and a decade of not knowing any of the science at all- adding this to my life has been a game changer. I smiled every night when I headed to bed the first week. I kid you not. It gave me a routine, a ritual. I can’t believe I survived my 20’s. And 5 1/2 years of chronically, miserably sick. It’s so nice to feel like my life and my heart and my peace are falling into place. I was lost for so many years. And now we have such an exchange of ideas and can live better, simpler, happier. And Hatch has become a joyful part of that.

I’ll be nice because I have a feeling iOS 26 has screwed up my phone. Apps keep crashing. Same with Hatch last night. But what Hatch just did was not the alarm setup I had. There was no light. Only gentle piano music. I had the light set for Iike 27. The alarm had no light. Sigh. Now I’ll be late for work.

Great Alarm, Terrible Delivery

I actually really enjoy this alarm clock. It’s easy to use, the sound quality is excellent, it looks great on my nightstand, and the sunrise light feature is fantastic. The hardware is genuinely excellent.
The subscription is what ruins it. This is already an expensive alarm clock, yet so many alarm sounds and features are locked behind a monthly fee. You’re pushed into starting a free trial with your credit card, and when it ends, the free experience is extremely limited.
It’s also frustrating that the free and paid content is mixed together, making it difficult to tell what you can actually use without subscribing.
I wanted to love this product, but I’m honestly considering getting rid of it because of the subscription model. The hardware deserves 5 stars. The greedy subscription ruins it all.

Good machine would like to have jacuzzi sound.

Please create jacuzzi sound

Good product

We have the Gen 1 rest for our first child and the hatch baby for our second. Both do the job well to provide sound and light but the Gen 1 rest I prefer its interface with the app better then the hatch baby interface. I also deeply miss the two way audio monitor that the rest has. That feature getting removed was a massive bummer.

Accounts are mandatory

You used to be able to use the app without logging in or signing up for anything. Now you have a login screen and can’t control via the app unless you sign up. Horrible change.

Crashing app and slow

The app constantly crashes and has a long delay between pressing the preview or sound up. When saving it always has an error. Either a defective product or needs an update.

Painful buggy experiences

I love my hatch, but this app is extremely buggy and the error messages are unclear. I often open the app and none of my alarms exist. I quit and reopen the app in hopes that that will help but they still don’t exist so I create a new one. Then they’ll appear after I create one…
I also try to toggle alarms on or off, and they don’t move to be inactive or active. Then I quit the app and reopen and it shows that it actually did move to be on/off (whichever I selected). It’s unreliable. I am shocked if I can just toggle one of my alarms to be on and it automatically moves to the active section and saves.

If I tried to turn two alarms on at once, I sometimes just see the error “ try again later” or “oops” without clear indications of what’s happening.

Love the alarm clock hate the app

The app has been a known to be full of bugs and issues. With how much I paid for the alarm and the fact that I pay a monthly subscription it’s frustrating that the app is so horrible. It won’t open from the Home Screen, half the time the podcasts will restart in the middle. The app could also definitely use more features. I unfortunately love the alarm clock so I will continue to use it but I’m very disappointed

App won’t connect to hatch often

Will disconnect about once a month and will just refuse to reconnect. Better hope you don’t have something important the next morning when it decides to do this.

Trash experience

This app is trash. The fact that you’re trying to charge for Hatch+ when the basic version doesn’t function property, sends you on a constant loop and load of screens. Why would anyone pay for this garbage subscription. These sounds are on Spotify…

Randomly stops working

The machine was working fine for many months then it stopped.

It would be nice if it worked

I so wanted to like this but it’s awful. Every time I use a sound with a suggested color, it will use that color no matter what I choose. I have triple checked I select the one I want. The suggested ones are often nuclear sludge green and I can’t imagine a more detestable way to wake up than having a green slime toned light shine in my face.
The gradual light starts way too bright unless I put brightness to 5, and then it barely gets light enough.
The subscription is obnoxious after already buying an expensive unit. Stop being greedy when you can’t even create a reliable app. I might pay for it if it did what I program it to do but it doesn’t.

dig the product, loath the app

there always seems to be something not quite right about the product’s connectivity to my internet. Thankfully, it still works. But the app constantly says I need to update the internet connection.

Problems

The app is great, but it crashes on me all the time so I have to delete it and then reinstall it constantly. The app is supposed to be convenient and it isn’t.

So mad!

We have the rest+, and after only a couple months, part of the display didn’t work which made it hard to tell the time. This was when our son was still a newborn so it hadn’t been dropped or messed with. We were too sleep deprived to do anything about it then. Now our son is 2 years old and while we were traveling, the noise he typically listens was getting choppy and stopping working. I get that a speaker that always plays the same sound can burn out the speaker, so although I’m annoyed it was having issues at 1 am, that’s not what makes me so mad. What makes me absolutely livid is that at 1am while in a hotel room, this expensive noise machine wouldn’t let me change what noise it would make because it wasn’t connected to the wifi. It was connected to my phone via Bluetooth and my phone was connected to wifi, but because I couldn’t get the hatch rest+ connected to the Hilton wifi, I couldn’t switch the noise to something that the speaker could still do. This is insane!!! When you pay over 100$ for a noise machine, you better be able to use it as a noise machine without having it connected to WiFi. I will never buy a hatch product again. I would have been better off with some cheap noise machine from Amazon.

This is the worst app I’ve ever used

It glitches and takes you in circles. Takes hours to add a device. You cannot remove devices. You can’t connect with a help center bc it requires a 1,000 character token that is sent to your email and needs to be copied into the chat but when you shut the chat to open your email to get the #, it deletes the chat convo

Almost Perfect!!!

This app is almost the best app ever made for my struggle to wake up and sleep. The only things I have an issue with are:

1. When I turn the switch off on the alarm, it deletes it. I had my alarm set perfectly to my standards for waking up, and when I had a day off, there is a switch to toggle it on or off and there is a different switch to delete it. So when I clicked the toggle it deleted my alarm.

2. I had a Kids Rest + for years because I really never felt like getting another one. Now, when I upgraded to a Restore 3, the lullaby sound wasn’t there anymore. I know that’s pretty foolish to say as a 15 year old, but hey, that lullaby really put me to sleep!!!

Other than that the app and product are amazing!! Great work developers and keep working hard! 👍🏻
