Pls

So glitchy. At least fix this if your going to make a expensive subscription

The app sucks

The hatch alarm it’s self is great but I have to try to set the alarm on the app about 8 different times before it actually works. You would think since you have to pay through the app for extra alarm sounds that don’t suck and you literally can’t use the alarm without the app they would’ve figured out how to run an app.

Annoying! Never connects

Terrible

Bed time stories SUCK

The bed time stories actually SUCK. The voices are creepy and give me nightmares.

Convoluted user interface

I genuinely cannot understand how an app for a sound machine can be this frustrating to use.

The scheduling system is unbelievably poorly designed. You can choose what time a routine starts, but instead of simply choosing an end time, Hatch makes you enter a duration in hours and minutes. So if I want one routine to end at 8:30 and another to begin at 8:31, I literally have to calculate how many hours and minutes the first routine needs to run. Why am I doing time arithmetic to program a sound machine?

It gets even worse when you have multiple schedules. The app complains that schedules “overlap,” but rather than letting you simply look at start and end times and fix the conflict, you have to go back and calculate durations yourself. Apparently even disabled schedules can create conflicts.

Then some sounds have fixed durations that cannot be changed. One schedule was inexplicably stuck at 9 minutes, with virtually no useful explanation from the app.

This is a sound machine for a child’s bedroom. Scheduling should be: start at 8:30 PM, stop at 6:30 AM, repeat on these days. Done. Instead, Hatch has somehow turned setting a bedtime into a math problem while simultaneously creating an “overlap” system that fights you every step of the way.

Very buggy

I love this app when it works! Lately it’s been very buggy and won’t connect. We love the stories for bedtime but they only play 50% of the time

Overpriced Paperweight

Who makes a WiFi only device with no ability to access / manually connect.

Frustrating

It’s almost impossible to make changes to alarms without an error in the app. I like the clock but the app makes it so hard to use. This is especially frustrating when you pay for the subscription only for the app not to work!

Force you to subscribe

They constantly mess with your nighttime routine to try and force you to subscribe. It was perfect before they made the subscribe option.

Terrible app

The app takes a long time to open. It makes absolutely no sense for it to keep loading for so long every time I open it—even if it’s just 30 seconds later. The content is always the same. What is there to load so many times?

Can’t find music

The old hatch was easy to operate, didn’t force music categories per routine (you could play whatever you wanted from the library) and whenever you wanted it (tap to play). The new app, devices and setup is patronizingly prescriptive and frustrating. Wish I could unbuy the new devices and go back to the old ones. Terrible product management.

So many bugs

This app has so many bugs in it. It’s impossible to set a sunrise alarm easily - there’s always errors happening or issues occurring. If you want to change the time on the alarm, sometimes it works - other times, it doesn’t. I constantly get mad at it every night for not adjusting or requiring multiple instances to change/edit the alarm. There’s gotta be other sunrise/sunset alarms out there by now.

So much potential

Really bad layout, and with AI and everything and all the hype around hatch on tiktok you’d think they’d have a better system. There should be more features. Off the top of my head: lamp option w all the diff types of lights, a morning routine bc the night ones I fall asleep before I actually digest something useful. I could go on.

Love the alarm, app is okay.

Ever since I have had the alarm my sleep has been amazing and I was up great in the mornings, as someone who sleeps through about every alarm. Only issue is the app is very glitchy and doesn’t save my alarms sometimes.

Love the hatch hate the app

Absolutely love the alarm clock but the app is very frustrating. Half the time the app won’t let you edit alarms and if it does it won’t save them.

Glitchy

Give yourself a favor and get a cheap little sound machine. The app is not working half of the time. It is super sensitive. If you tried to exit out of the app in the middle of the night, it will randomly start playing songs. It’s just not what I thought it would be. Also, they really want you to pay that ridiculous $50 annual fee or five dollars a month in order to have access to their app and their product. The audacity. They still have free little bedtime stories which they took away as well.

Could be a lot better

Take forever to load! Has been really glitchy lately. It was a lot to have to buy the product and a subscription only for it to not work properly

Product great, App not

This is an excellent product that helps with sleeping and rising. I’ve used it for years now. Unfortunately, this review is of the APP, which is pretty terrible. Extremely slow, constant connectivity issues, and regular crashes make it inconvenient and frustrating to use.

Inconvenient and annoying

A scam, difficult to use, and deceiving

You Will Have to Subscribe to the App

There are hardly any free alarms on the app. If you want to wake up with this without paying for the app you will spend most of your time searching for the free options than you will actually using this alarm clock. I’m already paying for an expensive alarm. Why do I have to pay for the app, too?
