Upsetting
Asks you to connect your whole health data BEFORE telling you it’s gonna cost fifteen bucks a month. (Edit: I didn’t see that it was in fact a one time purchase, but man, is money tight.)
Be more upfront about this. (Edit: put the price in the description of the app so you can see it before you download it.) In the name of owning my data you want me to pay YOU to access it? Totally against the spirit of obsidian & the plugin scene at large. Gross gross gross. Upset I connected my health data to your app even for a second. I did of course revoke it immediately.
(Edit: I’m unhappy that money at all is being charged to transfer data from one free app to another. I’m in a position where I am disabled and all of my money is basically going towards staying alive so it’s just extremely disheartening. Pay fifteen dollars to access your own data. Unbelievable)

Hey, sorry you feel this way. The code is open source if you prefer to run it that way (or audit the health data access - nothing hits my end, there’s no server)! It’s also $15 one time, not per month! It’s a lifetime purchase.

Amazing
I’ve looked for a long time off and on for a good way to get my Apple Health data to my Mac and analyze it. With the iPhone app, you can connect via this app OR the brew/cargo CLI.
There’s also an MCP if you prefer MCP to CLI for your agent. Heard about this from Leo Laporte and thought I’d have to look it up, and it’s marvelous. You don’t need to do anything other than start up the app on the Mac (and on the iPhone I think? I always have), and your Claude or other agent can start pulling whatever records you like, or whatever it needs to figure out whatever you ask it to.
I even see the transfer status in my icon bar on my Mac and on my Apple Watch. I haven’t tried the Apple Watch app yet; it’s next.
The one disappointment is Apple keeps Lab Tests locked away in some kind of special higher security vault, so I can’t download those too.

Most of my users are Obsidian users that prefer day-by-day markdown exports for their daily notes but I can bring in a single file export option.

For those of us who use Obsidian ...
... this is such a helpful app and developer Cody is fine-tuning. All of my Apple Health data, culled from different sources (Watch, Omron, a smart scale), is sent in Bases form directly to Obsidian, saving me lots of time. It's still rough around an edge or two, but for anybody who uses Obsidian and collects/tracks health data this is indispensable. Other apps export Health data but not in markdown to Obsidian.
