Makes me love being a doctor
With this app I can provide people with timely medical information about the topics they want to hear about most. Those little questions they were embarrassed to ask their doctor, the thoughts they had just after the end of the visit, and the second opinion they really need can be answered by doctors who really want to spend the extra time and give that extra attention.

A nice virtual patient care app
I'm an internal medicine physician who uses this app to see patients after hours (patients who work during normal hours and cannot take time off) and because I enjoy answering patient questions (it's fun). This is a reasonably well designed app for virtual patient care for my needs (mostly casual use). The main problem with this application is that patient questions are submitted "raw" and are usually poorly worded and ambiguous. Thus, a common reply to patients is "see your doctor" because there is no sensible answer to what the patient asked. There should be a patient question "moderation" or "question review" where questions are reviewed with respect to are they appropriate. The patient questions should be filtered in some way: is this question something that should be asked on this system ... i.e., "What should I do about this crushing chest pain?" Is not an appropriate question --- the patient needs to dial 911 and get help live and in person. In some cases the question is not even coherent ... something like "I have big fingers" ... which may be a poor Google translation of a complicated question; incoherent questions should be returned to sender for clarification. The system is set up so that physicians can "invite" patients to see them over this system. For many older / non-internet using patients, this system is too difficult to use. Otherwise, this is a nice system and has a "free" and a "paid" mode of use. Thus, it may be possible to build an online patient base with the free mode and then switch to the paid mode when the demand / volume of patients justifies making the switch.

Excellent learning tool for doctors
There is so much doctors can get out of helping patients on HealthTap. HealthTap is fun, interesting, and always adding new features. Doctors are recognized for their expertise that is being used to help people. Thank you very much.

As a physician who uses HealthTap, I like this app very much. I find that it is a convenient and effective way to keep in touch with patients, answer their medical questions & solve their medical problems in a manner that traditional practice can not. This app expands the doctor-patient relationship into an area free from the influence (or, rather, encumbrance) of big health insurance companies and mega hospital conglomerates. It's a small but important step towards the future of healthcare: reconnecting a doctor to the patient without anyone else in the room.

HealthTap is my absolute favorite health app. It is a great, safe service for doctors and gives us a great chance to help people in our spare time. Simple and easy to use. Now with the new HealthTap Prime and Concierge it's an easy way to expand telemedicine and to generate revenue. Very exciting for the future of health and medicine

Amazing UI
I have been using this app for a few months now and it's gotten significantly better each time. HealthTap never fails to impress me.
Latest update is BAD
HealthTap for Doctors has always thought very highly of itself. It's like going to a basketball game where the flashing lights, color commentary, and video and audio displays make the actual play on the court look dull and wan by comparison. But at least it more or less worked. This latest version is supposed to be a big update and improvement. Maybe it will be eventually, but it isn't yet. It is buggy and balky. Needs a bit of work before it's ready for prime time.

The Health Tap app makes it easy to connect with a doctor on demand and look up the latest health tips and advice for any health related questions. As a physician I love the app as it allows me to answer questions and do consultations right from my smart phone. Welcome to the 21st century!
Great app, in portrait mode
The app is very user friendly.
Only recommendation would be to allow for landscape mode. Unfortunately with the iPad app stuck in portrait mode, using keyboard case is very difficult/limited.

Innovative health care delivery
I think that the app has a lot of potential and hopefully will gain traction with providers and patients. It could become a very cost-effective way to seek medical attention and get a second opinion. It will not replace traditional health but supplement it.
Needs LANDSCAPE!
Well-designed app. Helpful. However, essentially useless to me as I have the apple keyboard and cannot type on it with iPad in portrait position.
