I had an extremely disappointing experience with Helcim.
The company allowed me to process customer payments for weeks, only to suddenly place my account under review afterward. I provided everything they requested, including proof that my business has been active since 2017, New York State tax inception documents, and additional verification forms.
After submitting all requested documents, they decided to close my account and informed me they would refund all of my customers instead of releasing my funds. This caused serious damage to my business. I already delivered products/services, invested my time, and expected to receive the money from legitimate sales.
What makes the situation even worse is that many of my customers are everyday walk-in buyers. I do not have direct contact information for every person who made a purchase, so there is no clear way for me to confirm whether refunds will actually be received.
This process has been stressful, unprofessional, and financially harmful to my business. I would strongly advise other business owners to be cautious before trusting this company with their payment processing.

Hold funds random, constant headaches, do not recommend!
I started using Helcim and the concept was great in theory but then they started holding my funds and the amount of paperwork and headaches they continuously require makes it just not worth it!
If they require knowing what kind of risk you pose to them, then they should disclose this up front and require this BEFORE you use the app. Instead, they waited until I used their platform, thinking it was a reliable way to invoice my clients with the selling point of passing off fees to customers. So I sent the invoice, the client paid, and then Helcim held my funds I very much needed to pay my staff and operate my business for over 2 weeks!
After holding my feet to the fire, I provided paperwork, bank statements, and information they required and finally got the funds released. Thinking this was a one time thing, I went to use the app again. Now they are requiring even more compliance paperwork and protocol to continue use using the app! Again, this should be disclosed up front, but instead they get you to use the app then hit us with these things holding our funds hostage and draining our time and productivity.
Such a headache and consistently unreliable. I will just add on the processing fee in my invoice moving forward and remove this awful company from being a very unnecessary middleman.

So cool! Makes the competition look like squares.
Completely surprised that this platform doesn’t have 4.5 to 5 star average reviews. Everything about this has been great. Also, everything is automated and digital and user-friendly they still reached out to me on a personal level to make sure everything was going as planned. With the money we’ve saved using Helcim me and my wife are gonna take a vacation.

Great low rates
So far, so good with Helcim - app and card processing “block” are both easy to use and have had zero issues so far. Their rates are way better than what I had been used to and that’s definitely a win as I’m a small business and every dollar counts.
Only two issues (small ones) are:
1) it takes a bit longer to see funds deposited than what I was used to; and,
2) when using the processing “block” (as I like to call it) there isn’t an option to tip a specific dollar amount - only % options. That has ended up costing me in some cases.

Other Reviews are Right
They approved our account, we checked customers out for about 3,000$ and then they they come back later and say they are not a good fit and our closing our account, not even a warning or anything. We process 1 million a year so good job on missing out. And instead of giving us our money they refund the customers. Now we have to hope they will pay us back for the stuff they already received

Great app and service
Only problem I ever had with it was that each time somebody was buying something by card, it was sending 2 API calls, messing up my automations. I wrote to IT and they fixed it pretty quickly. Smooth sailing since then.
Just Don’t
Unless you’re strictly processing debit cards, the rates are higher than the people they advertise to be cheaper than. Costumer service is slow and the app itself is clunky compared to other services.
They STOLE our money!
Do NOT use this company! After three days of using them for over $20k in processing, they decided we weren’t a good fit for them, immediately closed our account and blocked our access to them, and all we get is an email saying they’re refunding all of our clients. What?? Then I call, a non-American answers and repeats what the email says as if I’m stupid, puts me on hold for ten minutes, all to tell me that the “trust and safety” team will email me back when they can. The email I sent them before said it would take 3 business days to get a response. So to be clear, they have over 20k in our funds (we can’t tell because they blocked us) and who knows if they’ve already refunded our clients so we have to chase that money down and hope our clients are kind enough to pay us. DO NOT USE!

Don’t Use This App
I made a business account with this platform to better assistance my business. I’m in the midst of transitioning my accounting system and sales onto the platform. I’ve been reaching calls from this company saying let’s talk , let’s talk. I haven’t heard back from you that’s because I’m busy. Such a incompetent company in its entirety waste of time and an app. I’ll rate 0 stars if I had to just another predatory app claiming they will help business needs. STAY AWAY

No issues
I’ve had no issues for customer support. Everything’s gone great however, looking at reviews I have to say I am disappointed when someone has put on a negative review that the company has not come back with a comment. I think that is not acceptable and I hope that their customer service changes their Waze.
