Highly Inaccurate - DO NOT WASTE $

Scanned a YSL vintage necklace est. value $9-$21. I added YSL and vintage to description, still same price range. Actual price range is $400 - $900 per Google and eBay. Would have been an expensive mistake. Great idea - Poor results.

Not worth the cost

It probably won’t let my review stay because of the review. I think it’s insane to charge you to use an app to sell stuff. Especially when it would crash freeze and they only give you a theee day trial. Like how can you truly give a honest review with only being able to try for 3 days. I am a big reviewer and believe that companies should slow more time especially when you want them to tell people about the app or the item. 3 days is not enough time . I am busy with my kids in sports and don’t have time to go on r Ethan so in order to truly to r it a rdfYork you need to go d more time

Response from developer

Hey, thank you for the honest take, this is the kind of review that actually makes the app better. Two things. One: the crashing is a real bug and it is not acceptable, so I want to fix it for you directly. Two: three days is not enough time to fairly judge anything, and I agree. Email us at support@hero.st and we will extend your access for free so you can put Hero through its paces on your own schedule. A reviewer who is busy with their kids should not have to choose between their life and a fair trial. We will work around you.

i appreciate this app

i love this app, it’s amazing & easy. can’t wait to use it as often as possible

Close but not there yet and $$

It’s a cool tool and a great concept, but it’s buggy. I did three ads in a row, and the videos didn’t get onto the ads, which was super irritating because now I have to go back and shoot again. I edited their AI content, then went to Photos and then back to text and the text that I had edited and had reverted back to their content which was lame. Also, I paid them 50 bucks and now they want another 50 after I’ve only posted a few ads so that’s pretty Ridiculously expensive.

Response from developer

Appreciate the honest review, and you are right on the bugs. Video not making it onto the listing, and your edited text snapping back to the AI version when you switch tabs, are both things we are fixing now. Losing edits you already made is the worst kind of bug and I am sorry it hit you three times in a row. On the cost: reach out at support@hero.st. I am not going to charge you another fifty for an app that made you reshoot. Let us sort the billing and the bugs together so the next few ads actually go smoothly.

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig.

I tried three items that I knew the value of and that had previous listings sold on eBay, so the price comps and listing info should have been a layup for this app to find. It didn’t even come close to being correct. I tried both the photo and video options; both produced the same poor result. This is a tool that was obviously built on "vibe coding."

I have used AI to make my own personal selling tools, but I figured I’d check this out because it was local to my iPhone and I thought it might be better than what I have. Long story short: if you just take the photos and ask Claude to make the listing, it works better than this. You can even have it crosspost and send the listing to an inventory document. Most people don’t know how to do that, but it’s not hard to build and Claude can even take you through the steps. I’m not normally one to write reviews, but this feels scammy. The amount of times I’ve seen this pushed on Instagram as a wonder tool compared to how it actually executes is BS. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig.

Long story short: ask Claude Cowork to build a reusable workflow. If you don’t know how to use Claude, learn it. Remember to have it set up your API so you follow eBay policy. This is the basic version of how to make a tool that actually works, and you can expand on it very easily once you learn how to use Claude.

Hey there. We've been working on this since before vibe coding. Using Claude Cowork is great but not great for a unified experience when posting to other platforms Sorry that you had a bad experience. Appreciate it and we'll continue to get better.

It has potential

It has potential and would like to use it, but is far too expensive for what it is. Not saying it should be free, it’s a cool idea you should be compensated for , but the price point is not grounded in reality.

Best App Ever

I was skeptical about downloading and paying. It’s the best app I have ever used. Worth every penny. I started using it to get rid of items I no longer use. Saves me so much time and guessing on what to say and price. I’d you do a lot of selling on Ebay and FB Marketplace this is the app for you.

Best app

If you want to actually make some quick easy sales this is your app

Not helpful for sellers on eBay or Facebook it needs adjustments I’ll explain

The idea is great and all but this doesn’t work good for example when I post a item on Facebook it doesn’t upload all the pictures of the item on its own I have to still screenshot all the pictures and upload them to the app also when I post the item it doesn’t post it to all the community groups I’m in which is what gets me most of the sales more groups your item is posted in more views more sales etc also there prices aren’t very accurate there close but there a bit off another thing when posting on eBay this app is completely useless it doesn’t even put you a 80 characters title which is what you need for lots of clicks and barley fills out any of the items item specifics which is also what increases your chances of a sale if you guys could fix all of that I’d sign up in a heart beat

Response from developer

Hi there. There's a feature to upload photos - maybe you missed it. Additionally, we don't allow users to post across ALL communities because that could be spammy. We will consider this as a feature if you designate the groups you want it to post to. The prices are quite accurate for many items. Which items weren't accurate for you? Please be specific. The models aren't perfect and never will be but we're constantly improving them. The 80 character title thing has been an issue and we're actively working on it. Jim Jake, so sorry you had a bad experience. Happy to make it better for you. Hope that after this new update you will give it a shot. Email me support@hero.st / support@herostuff.com

Bad

My family and I are having so much fun and did I mention side hustle money? Thank you so very much!!!!

Excellent potential

Showed it obscure item, it made the listing. The only hiccup? Shipping. When I do “sell similar” on eBay it prefills the shipping info with details from the item similar items listing. Here it was blank. Worse, When going to manually enter it, the app only has pounds listed for units, but this item (and many I would use the app for) weighs only ounces.

The ai description? It’s good! Good enough to remind me the internet is dead, in fact, as it was totally real *sounding* but complete BS. “I pulled this item from an old blah blah blah” I’d prefer something more matter-of-fact. It’s certain better than eBay’s AI “used car salesman on crack” descriptions.

I will be testing this apps ability to do better than eBay’s search by picture/sell similar process but so far the app was quicker and easier, my first listing up in less than 60 seconds.

Been on eBay 20+ years

I’d say it’s the only app I’ve ever seen on Facebook that had me download it AND that it worked (pretty much) as shown.

Thanks for trying the app and for the thoughtful feedback, especially with your eBay experience. Hey there. You’re right about the shipping and ounces issue. Ounces should be supported and we’re fixing that so lighter items are easier to enter. We’re also working on auto-filling shipping from comparable listings so it behaves more like eBay’s “Sell Similar.” Good catch on the AI description too. The goal isn’t to invent a story, so we’re updating it to be more factual and seller-focused. Glad to hear your first listing took under a minute. More improvements coming.

Requires Google or AppleID registration

this app looks interesting but I want to just register to use it with simply my email. I don’t want to use credentials for Google or Apple ID to use the app. You should provide that developers.

Does most things excellent

Could so easily be better with just a little AI intelligence applied to the idea of ‘brand voice’. The default voice of the ai descriptions doesn’t sound remotely professional and says everything is - just laying around - no longer needed or -never used -which is terrible marketing even if true. AI is capable of writing robust ads with as much detail as the item (when properly identified) has online in its own marketing. The template ad could be so much more customizable and it would vastly improve this already very useful and time saving app.

This is incredible feedback. Agree with being able to tweak the AI to make it sound better. We are working on this and will let you know soon :) reach out to support@hero.st any time. Thanks so much.

Is this app hurting me? Or helping me?

I’m honestly not sure. I purchased the app about 2 weeks ago. I’m not sure if it’s actually helping me or hurting me?
Pros- Saves me time not having to create a description for a product. Unfortunately that’s my only pro at this time. Cons- I hate to even say all of this because the concept is perfect for people like me who spend most of our time processing our inventory and are dirt tired when it comes to posting them. So this is exactly what I needed. However, it doesn’t always get the correct item that it’s scanning, which causes me even more time trying to rescan the item it just researching myself. The amount to sell it at is only coming from EBay and FBMarketplace. It doesn’t do a general search in the internet. So a vintage doll I own worth $250+, shows up at $60. I wish it had other platforms to upload to other than the two listed above. I personally don’t use eBay. So I’m really only getting one platform from it. I also don’t like that there’s not an option in how it generates its descriptions. Each description is for the most part the exact same. It’s still detailed and lengthy and sounds very personal. But they’re all the exact same with just the details changed. I’m really hoping to find a solution to make this app work for me before I am asking for a refund. Hoping the app get to where it needs to be so that it’s able to be successful.

Hi there, Thank you for sharing this so honestly. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain both what’s working and what isn’t. You’re absolutely right about the core promise. This app should save you time, recognize items accurately, price them correctly, work with the platforms you actually use, and give you flexible descriptions that don’t all feel the same. If it’s falling short in those areas right now, that’s on us to improve. The good news is that the exact issues you mentioned are the ones we are actively working on. We are improving scan accuracy, expanding pricing beyond just eBay and Facebook, adding more selling platforms, and redesigning descriptions so you can choose different tones and styles. I completely understand why you would question whether the app is helping you yet, and I truly hope we can earn your trust as these improvements roll out. If you are open to it, I would love to hear which platforms you sell on most so we can prioritize what matters most to you.

Good

I like selling on here overal it’s a great way to sell your stuff on .

Gave it a try, human brain is better

I thought “what the hell” an app dedicated to identifying items and compiling prices of identical items has to be better than google ai image search. NOPE! So glad I didn’t pay for a subscription. On a trial run of three items Hero went 0-3. With the brand name clearly visible on all three products, Hero could not find the brand of product, google does. With the item name CLEARLY written on the package next to the brand name, Hero went 0-2 on even identifying what the item was. I have it “heating pad” it gave me “backpack.” I gave it flashlight with a compass built into the back, it gave me a different brand with a flashlight and bottle opener on the back. Tsk tsk

Response from developer

Appreciate you taking the time to write this. You’re not wrong to expect better, and in this case we missed the mark. Hero is still early and our image models can fail in edge cases, especially when packaging, glare, or mixed objects throw off recognition. That doesn’t make the result any less frustrating, and “heating pad → backpack” is on us. We’re actively improving brand and text recognition and pushing fixes weekly. If you’re open to it, we’d love to look at those exact scans to understand what went wrong and make the system better. Thanks for giving it a shot, and for holding us to a high bar.

So buggy. Logs you out when attempting to list an item.

Super disappointed

Excuse me?

Charged $70 immediately. Yikes. Do not pass go. I just wanted to see what apps you can cross post to. The answer? EBay and Facebook marketplace. Canceled immediately but they already have my money.
