Very charming and chill
Just a sweet little pixel battler! I’m not far into it but I’ve figured out most of the basics and it’s quite fun, they don’t push many ads onto the user either which is greatly appreciated 🤙

Tons of nostalgic fun! Quick games that can be fought in a couple minutes, perfect for those few minutes of down time. It can also lead to addictive strings of battles.

Terribly unbalanced and choppy
The nostalgic value is the only thing going for this app; the slow yep difficult to pause gameplay feels slow yet chaotic somehow. You can’t play through the easier levels with new heroes so you have to slam your head against the wall on new heroes. Lightning for some reason shocks your own troops and the trial and error gameplay feels less like a rewarding experience and more like an insulting one.
Also why do wraiths/wights full heal when they kill your units that are on autopilot? It’s frustrating losing due to something you have no control over.
I have a bad feeling maxing out your hero isn’t worth the pain of getting a few levels every day.

Game is frustrating but mildly fun
While this game could be enjoyable, it has a lot of features which add to the state of irritation. It’s not really clear how magic works and you have to pretty much figure that out on your own. Also, the selection of troops is arbitrary it seems. Additionally, I’ve been fighting battles, trying to advance beyond the first five shields, and I’m not sure how to get stars to appear on the shield after winning countless battles. After several victories, I reach a point where I cannot seem to defeat their forces no matter what I do or whatever unit I select or whatever spell I use. Some armies just seem to be too hard to overcome.It gets frustrating trying to play some thing only to find that you can’t advance very far

I use to play the PC version of this game so I’m not quite use to iPhone version. Bit different from the original game still enjoyable though although I do prefer the pc game more so. I’m willing to stick with this new mode and give it a go.

The latest update requires GEMS instead of coins for equipment. It used to be fun but not after this.
