What's New in Hiker Trash

1.3.5

June 24, 2026

The Fortified Trail Update: Built for the Backcountry We’ve spent some serious time off the grid restructuring how the app handles zero-signal environments. Whether you're deep in the Mammoth Lakes backcountry or cruising the PCT, version 1.3.5 is built to hold its ground. Fortified Trail Mode: Massive upgrades to offline logging. Your daily records and hike status updates (like marking a section completed) are securely locked into your device's vault and will never be overwritten by stale server pings. The Background Postmaster: As soon as your phone catches even a single bar of service, our new background sync engine quietly beams your offline logs and trail configurations up to the cloud without you lifting a finger. Scrollable Map Filters: We’ve overhauled the Live Map control deck. Filter trail activity dynamically by time (48 Hrs, 1 Week, or All history) and squad (Following or Tramily). We've defaulted the view to "All" to make sure the map feels alive with recent pings. Ghost Camera Fix: Fixed a violent memory crash that occurred when trying to snap a live photo of a new Trail Ghost. The camera now uploads images natively and smoothly from your device's disk, protecting your phone's memory. Smoother Onboarding: Eradicated a bug that caused immediate app crashes during brand-new account signups. The path is completely clear for the new tramily! See you on the trail! If you love the app, consider leaving us a review.
