Buggy
The app is quite buggy, it often doesn't load pages or pictures. Logging in sometimes just leads to a blank page. No really slick enough for holiday bookings.
Impossible to logon
Every time I try to login it says my details are incorrect. So I have to go through the forgot password process again, but today, it won’t even send me the reset password email. The app is so poor, I won’t use the company again no matter how good the holiday turns out (if we ever get there)

Booking ls screen takes several minutes to load or does not load. Unable to use explore function to view other properties as screen is blank
Great Site!
Literally found this website by accident! We use two other well known sites for our holidays within the U.K., but since we adopted two dogs, after our little old man passed away in 2024, we’ve found it harder to find locations willing to take two dogs. After searching, two properties we found weren’t totally suitable, then holidaycottages.co.uk popped up in my Google feed! My mother is old, and in poor health, so ideally needs everything on a ground floor. She was adamant we go away for Christmas and new year 26/27 as a family (we lost my MIL in 2024) and we found the perfect spot for me, my husband, our two puppers and my mother. I’m sure it will be the perfect Christmas and new year!

Dodgy reviews for cottages
The app itself I have found easier to use than the website so far. Although, I am quite annoyed that my recent, not entirely positive, review I left for a cottage I had stayed in was published with just my name and no. of stars given (3). The paragraph including the reasons I was not entirely satisfied was not published. Not fair at all for future bookers of that cottage or any future bookings I make now I know that this is how it’s done. I will now know what a blank review with just a star score suggests.

Amazing
We use holiday cottages twice a year and always have a fabulous stay. The cottages are clean and tidy and are well equipped. They keep you well informed with your booking I wouldn’t use any other company
Notifications
So I had a notification that I cannot get rid of on my home screen. I have deleted and reinstalled the app twice and it’s still there! So annoying as I like a tidy home screen! I have now deleted the app which is disappointing but I could not find out at all what the notification was!

The Wain House
We stayed in The Wain House for five nights arriving on Saturday 6th June. Stepping through the old rustic doorway entrance lay a hidden gem. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, it was bright and stylish, tastefully decorated with quality furnishings, bedding and toiletries. On the dining room table there were fresh cut flowers and in the kitchen, there were some provisions left by the Owners for our stay. It was our first time holidaying in Shropshire and The Wain House was ideally located for visiting Ludlow.

Unable to view account
When I go to account then sign in it asks me do I want to use auth.holidaycottages.co.uk to sign in, when I press continue it just goes to a blank screen, so far I’m unable to access my recent booking.
Good Memories
I have used holidaycottages.co.uk for many years and have found every cottage/house that I have stayed in to be comfortable, well equipped and has given me plenty of treasured memories

Trying to look for property to rent in Cornwall but finding it difficult to find in certain areas of Cornwall. Also, cannot always get price to show for certain dates. Click on check availability but then site just freezes, I can only get dates available but no prices. Doesn’t always go back to previous page. Does app show properties to rent on a map one can click on in particular area? Otherwise good descriptions given for properties.

On home fast broadband and just getting login issues with white screens and popups which appear for 1/2 second then vanish…. Assuming you’re doing some sort of web authentication but I think the App is fighting back!!! 🙂
The Fox at Badger Brook
Easy app to use, fantastic accommodation to choose from, exellent prices, we are visiting soon as part of a present for my daughters wedding, can’t wait looks absolutely brilliant.
Frustrating
This app is frustrating as some pretty key features don’t work properly:
- For some reason I am only able to filter prices up to a certain limited amount.
- The wish list feature is temperamental. Sometimes it doesn’t load the saved properties. Then it only seems to have saved up to 10 and has deleted previously saved properties which is somewhat frustrating.
