Taught me how to cook & lost weight
I have been using Home Chef weekly since the Shut Down of 2020. We love the unique combinations of flavors and choices. Since learning how to cook at home, I lost 15 lbs and my husband lost 30 and we have kept the weight off. Home Chef changed my life for the better.
Recipe Malfunction
The meals are great typically things come in fresh. My biggest problem is them not sending the accurate recipe or sometimes sending the wrong meal altogether. Like sometimes it will be the right meal with the wrong recipe sent in so then you have to do the recipe from the app but the app doesn’t let you print out the recipe so you have to keep pulling it up on your phone as you go which is annoying. And then sometimes the complete wrong meal will come in with the correct recipe printed out so it’s backwards. Reaching customer service is difficult, so that function can use some work but other than that it’s a really good food delivery service.

No communication
The delivery company they choose will not notify you of a delivery or the tracking status even if you sign up 1000 times. So you have to hope they will knock and let u know it’s there. THEY DONT! And you will get warm food that you cannot consume. It is a waste of money and time. I got my last package with the tape barely on and nothing was consumable. 0/10.

Recipes
Recipes are great, very creative. It is concerning though, when necessary ingredients are missing. Fortunately I was able to create a suitable replacement. I think had all the ingredients been in the package it would have been a 10!

The meals are very good and fun to prepare but fresh vegetables are not lasting the week
Meal easy
Myself and my wife have enjoyed the meals so far. The prep work is easy to follow. The taste has been good, looking forward to the weeks ahead.

Could be good. But not there yet
I was excited to join in an attempt to simplify my eating. I will disclose that I am new to eating meat, so some of my negative comments may be obvious to others.
First issue: I would receive a box either missing recipe cards or missing the food packet. This happened more than once.
Second issue: I just didn’t care much for the quality of the food. I would receive fruit and vegetables that were way past their prime.
Issue 3: it just didn’t taste that good. The meat was super tough. Issue 4: I would skip a week on the app, and there it would show up on my porch. I work several weeks of the month out of town.
Can’t complain about some of the sides.
On a positive note, customer service has been great. I would just like to try again with another company.

Packing getting very sloppy and getting meals I did not order.

Theses teas were great and refreshing.
VARIETY
Love the variety of flavors. Makes food satisfying & helps me lose weight - 34 pounds in 6 months. Also the variety of prep methods. Love the simple options - ability to use a single pan on stove your baking sheet in oven.

Like the food okay, but….
Difficult to navigate. Shouldn’t have to delete the meals you choose for me before I add the meals I choose.
Unable to see current week’s meal nutrition facts
The app is built great, but the extremely frustrating thing is that when I go to view the details of my current week’s meals, I get a blank screen. I can’t see the calories, fat, protein, or any other macro or micronutrients. I’m able to see next week’s nutrition information, but not the current week. As someone who is actively dieting and likes to preplan my meals, it’s frustrating to have to pull each meal out of the fridge, scan each QR code, and then decide which to eat. It’d be nice if the app functioned as it’s supposed to and allowed for the convenience it was built to have.

Easy way to find new favorites!
We were in a rut- same old, same old. I’d look up a new recipe and find I didn’t have the $15 worth of spices or ingredients on hand. This comes with everything- save for salt, pepper & olive oil. Love picking out our choices and enjoying new flavors. Have tried others, Home Chef is consistently the best!
