Inzwischen perfekte App

Really good

I want to love this so badly…

On paper, this app is fantastic. It lets you see and browse and filter through all kinds of a nearly complete set of HomeKit compatible smart home devices, with links to find them on Amazon and a whole lot of other extremely useful information. It’ll even show you if you’ve got them in your home already.

It’s the implementation that makes me so frustrated. While the interface is beautiful, the app does not remember a thing between uses. Furthermore, the news feature has its memory completely wiped in between uses of the app. That means I have to go in and select all of the individual news outlets again and change my settings back to what I had before. I have to do this every single time that I open the app it’s exactly I just downloaded it fresh again every time. This is especially frustrating because I think the news feature is really well designed, and it includes an automatic use of reader if you would like and even automatic translation, which is really important because some of the best HomeKit blogs are not written in English.

But what really broke the back for me is the fact that the app basically takes 10 different tries just to load. And then when it does load, it’s an erased all of my settings once again. Everything about this app is great and well thought through. But this constant reset issue makes it completely unusable.

To the Dev team – you built something really really great. Don’t let the continuing festering of this issue be what brings it down.

Neglected after new owners

It was a great app, but then the people responsible for Controller for HomeKit took over and meaningful development of the app stopped. 4 of the 7 courses have been “coming soon” for over a year now.

Best resource for HomeKit news and product info

You would think Apple would make an app like HomeDevices, or at least include information about the 3rd party devices on their web based list, since HomeKit is their standard. This is especially true since as of now Apple has refused to release any 1st party HomeKit products (HomePod and AppleTV aside) and has thus far relied on 3rd parties to develop products for their ecosystem. All Apple provides is a list of devices currently available that support HomeKit. No information about the devices, links to the product page or even links to the websites of the device manufacturer.

The HomeDevices app provides all of the information Apple should be providing and more. News about upcoming devices, Matter support, whether a bridge/hub is required, automations supported by each device, links to buy, and more.

The one feature I would love to see the developer add is a section for users to share Shortcuts they’ve created for each HomeKit device so that other users can download them (similar to services/apps like Routinehub.io, Shorcut Archive, etc) but focused on Shortcuts exclusively for each specific HomeKit device.

A quoi ça sert

Help

Can you help me with bedroom and bathroom Spencer's please

Slow

The app has gotten so slow and bloated. It seems to be fully adware now. I like the app and found it helpful but I don’t like to use it anymore. Feels like an ad not a resource

MVP Award

This app does so many useful things to keep me informed on the latest technologies, app updates, and newest smart home devices. There is a ton of information on smart home management including links to a library of invaluable videos by Shane Whatley with content for smart home people of all levels. And this is just taking a peek behind the curtain as there is so much more.

What a fantastic app. Needs 1 thing.

Great app! Slick Responsive, regular updates, just a slam dunk.

I was trying to search or use categories to find Pet related devices. I believe Aquara and some others are out there.

- But yes this app is a 10.

Merci

All Good, Little but

The manufacturer Shelly is missing with his Plug

No help for new features

Since the release of controller 7.2.0 I am waiting for a description, how to use the new feature „virtual switches“. Nada. This App here was updated 3 months ago. No additional courses or help. It‘s frustrating, having announcements of new stuff, but no advice how to use it. Also tried feedback, support and other sources. Supporting should be up-to-date with the releases.

Indispensable app

This app is great. I find so many good devises I wouldn’t have otherwise known about with specific features like thread etc. also a great app to keep up with all the news and YouTubers etc. thanks for making this!

HomeDevices

Great app for Homekit. Easy to find accessories.

Neustart zeigt es was an.

Schade
