Glitchy

AI isn’t very good. It can’t read scanned documents to upload a schedule from my curriculum. AI is just not up to par. Lots of errors. If you put everything in manually it’s ok. I don’t like I can’t adjust the colors. I hate the mauve pink everywhere. This app needs work. Absolutely worth the cost if it worked well and has some adjustments. As is, I feel like this should be a free or cheap beta version. Not worth it, yet. I’ll check back in a year or so and see if it’s better.

Response from developer

Hi Jenn, thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback, it's genuinely helpful. Good news on both points: the AI document scanning/parsing issues you ran into have since been resolved, and color theme customization is something we are currently reviewing to address the mauve pink concern. If you'd like to retry the curriculum upload that gave you trouble, please email us at support@homeschoolplanner.com and we'd be happy to walk through it with you. We hope you'll check back sooner than a year. We're shipping updates every few weeks, and we want to earn the rating you originally hoped to give.

Not worthwhile for multi-child families

Before purchases, users can only have one student on their plan, to add any more children it requires a very expensive subscription. I can’t access enough in the free version to see if I want to subscribe. Waste of time.

Response from developer

Hi there, thank you for this feedback, it's a fair concern and not the experience we want for homeschooling families, who so often have multiple kids. The single-student limit on the free tier is meant to let you try the full feature set with one child before committing, but we hear that it's not enough signal for families evaluating multi-child workflows. We're actively reviewing our trial structure and pricing for larger families. If you're open to giving us another look, please email us at support@homeschoolplanner.com and we'll set you up with extended access so you can properly evaluate the app across all your students.

App Review

There many planner apps but this particular app has everything needed for all the planning required for home schooling kids. It’s save time and easy to use.

Response from developer

Hi Eddie! Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We're thrilled that you find the app user-friendly and appreciate our focus on essential features without unnecessary complexity. That's exactly what we aimed for as homeschooling parents ourselves - something that actually helps rather than overwhelms. Your feedback means the world to us!

Wonderful App

Our kids are benefiting from this great App and help them learn and grow, what a blessing.

Response from developer

Thank you, Jason! Hearing that your kids are learning and growing with the app is exactly why we do this. Wishing your family a fantastic homeschool year!

Love it buuut

I love this app for our home buuut I do wish there was a YouTube video on how to use the features. I cannot find where my documents are scanned into so I can submit to Florida if needed. Also, I would give anything to be able to have the lessons separated by folders for each subject. Right now I have 120+ lessons all together. It is a pain. But other than that, I love the app

Response from developer

Hi Jessica, thank you for the love, and for the thoughtful wishlist! Two of your three points have progress to share: (1) Documents got a big update since version 1.19 of the app we moved from the old grid view to a cleaner list view and added tags so you can label documents by subject, term, or whatever makes sense for your Florida reporting. Scanned documents live under each student's checklist and are now much easier to find and filter. (2) On lesson organization at 120+ lessons, the new tag system also extends to lessons so you can filter and group. Not full folders yet, but a meaningful step in that direction, with deeper subject-based grouping on the roadmap. (3) YouTube tutorials are still in progress; we're recording walkthroughs of the most-asked-about features. If you'd like a quick screenshot walkthrough of the documents section in the meantime, just drop us a line at support@homeschoolplanner.com. Thank you for being such a thoughtful user!
