Glitchy
Response from developer
Hi Jenn, thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback, it's genuinely helpful. Good news on both points: the AI document scanning/parsing issues you ran into have since been resolved, and color theme customization is something we are currently reviewing to address the mauve pink concern. If you'd like to retry the curriculum upload that gave you trouble, please email us at support@homeschoolplanner.com and we'd be happy to walk through it with you. We hope you'll check back sooner than a year. We're shipping updates every few weeks, and we want to earn the rating you originally hoped to give.
Not worthwhile for multi-child families
Response from developer
Hi there, thank you for this feedback, it's a fair concern and not the experience we want for homeschooling families, who so often have multiple kids. The single-student limit on the free tier is meant to let you try the full feature set with one child before committing, but we hear that it's not enough signal for families evaluating multi-child workflows. We're actively reviewing our trial structure and pricing for larger families. If you're open to giving us another look, please email us at support@homeschoolplanner.com and we'll set you up with extended access so you can properly evaluate the app across all your students.
App Review
Response from developer
Hi Eddie! Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We're thrilled that you find the app user-friendly and appreciate our focus on essential features without unnecessary complexity. That's exactly what we aimed for as homeschooling parents ourselves - something that actually helps rather than overwhelms. Your feedback means the world to us!
Wonderful App

Thank you, Jason! Hearing that your kids are learning and growing with the app is exactly why we do this. Wishing your family a fantastic homeschool year!
Love it buuut

Hi Jessica, thank you for the love, and for the thoughtful wishlist! Two of your three points have progress to share: (1) Documents got a big update since version 1.19 of the app we moved from the old grid view to a cleaner list view and added tags so you can label documents by subject, term, or whatever makes sense for your Florida reporting. Scanned documents live under each student's checklist and are now much easier to find and filter. (2) On lesson organization at 120+ lessons, the new tag system also extends to lessons so you can filter and group. Not full folders yet, but a meaningful step in that direction, with deeper subject-based grouping on the roadmap. (3) YouTube tutorials are still in progress; we're recording walkthroughs of the most-asked-about features. If you'd like a quick screenshot walkthrough of the documents section in the meantime, just drop us a line at support@homeschoolplanner.com. Thank you for being such a thoughtful user!
Lifesaving app!
Response from developer
"Save yourself the mental load" might be the best tagline we've ever been handed, thank you! That's exactly what we're trying to do: take the cognitive weight off homeschool parents so you can focus on actually teaching. Thrilled it's clicking. Appreciate you!
Amazing app
One of my favorite features is the Ai lesson planner feature, where you can tell the Ai what you would like to review/practice and it can create a worksheet for your student instantly!
Overall, a great app, I would recommend it to any parent who homeschools!
Response from developer
Thank you so much for this. Coming from someone who works with a wide range of students, that endorsement means a lot! We built the AI worksheet generator to take a specific pain point (personalized practice on demand) and make it feel effortless, so we're thrilled it's one of your favorites. We love that you see the broader classroom potential too — stay tuned. Thanks for being such an enthusiastic advocate!
Perfect tool
Response from developer
Thank you so much! Fast custom worksheets and stress-free lesson planning were the two problems we most wanted to solve, so it means a lot to hear both called out. Here's to saving you time for the stuff that matters — thanks for the recommendation!
Complicated and confusing
Response from developer
Hi, we're really sorry this was your experience on version 1.16 of the app. The issues you described were real, and we've since shipped specific fixes for every one of them. Lesson rows now tap-to-expand so you can see the description and open every work item directly from the checklist. We added a "pull forward" feature so you can move lesson events to a different date with an optional cascade shift. So no more deleting plans to reschedule. And time conflicts between lesson plans now auto-retry and resolve instead of blocking you. We also rebuilt the lesson save flow and added pull-to-refresh across the parent app. We'd love for you to try the current version of the app (1.47) and if anything still feels off, please email us at support@homeschoolplanner.com and we'll help directly. Thank you for the detailed bug report; it genuinely helped us prioritize this cluster of fixes.
Wow!!!!

Thank you so much for such a detailed review! "Simple yet powerful" is exactly the balance we work hardest to strike. Glad it's landing. The auto-rearranging scheduler was a labor of love (life doesn't stop for lesson plans!), and we love that you're getting so much mileage out of the gradebook, attendance, and reports too. Thank you for sharing us with other homeschool mamas — truly appreciated!
Very helpful tool!
Response from developer
Thank you, Mandy! "Everything in one place" is exactly the problem we set out to solve. Homeschool life involves so many moving pieces, and we wanted to give families a single calm home for all of it. So glad the tracking pieces (lessons, goals, progress) are clicking for you. Thanks for the kind words!
Amazing!!!
Response from developer
Thank you so much! We do build this as homeschool parents ourselves, so it means a lot to hear that the "made by someone who's lived it" quality comes through. So glad it's making your school year smoother — and yes, we appreciate the pun!
Great for Self Learners Too
I’ll also add that the AI tool is also incredibly responsive, especially when I’m stuck and need some help organizing my self. I can only imagine how much more productive and useful this app would be for a homeschooling family that could utilize all aspects this app has to offer. Highly recommend this app!
Response from developer
What a wonderful review, thank you! We love that a self-learner designing their own curriculum is getting so much out of the planner and AI tools; it's a use case we didn't originally build for, but honestly it's a perfect fit for the kind of structure-meets-flexibility we aim for. And we're especially glad you mentioned the printed calendar. That one was a passion project, and hearing that it arrived and is being used is the best feedback. Keep crushing your own curriculum, and thank you for recommending us!
Confused at 5 star ratings
Response from developer
Hi NoBoundaryLearning, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. As fellow homeschooling parents with three children (ages 10, 14, and 16), we completely understand your concerns about flexibility and the unique needs of homeschool families. Our app was actually born out of our own family's practical homeschooling journey. We're actively involved in the homeschool community, and our company has grown specifically because we've listened to feedback from parents like yourself who know that homeschooling doesn't fit into traditional educational boxes. I'm excited to share that we've already addressed several of your concerns! The AI worksheet generation feature is now available in our free tier (5 worksheets per month at no charge), so you can explore it without any commitment. Regarding student names, please feel free to use nicknames or pseudonyms that work for your family. For terms, these are primarily there for families who need them for attendance tracking, progress reporting, and jurisdictional requirements that many parents face with their local or state regulations. However, you can absolutely define your term duration however fits your family's lifestyle and learning rhythm. We've been iterating rapidly based on user feedback, and the app has improved tremendously since version 1.4. We'd love for you to give it another try with our latest release - I think you'll find it much more aligned with real homeschooling flexibility. If you'd like to explore the premium features after trying the updates, please email support@homeschoolplanner.com and mention this review - we'd be happy to provide a discount code. Thanks again for helping us build something better for our community!

What an incredible compliment - thank you! There's nothing that makes us happier than hearing that our app is motivating families to embrace homeschooling with confidence. Knowing that the simplicity we've worked so hard to achieve is helping you feel empowered in your homeschool journey is absolutely the best feedback we could receive. Thank you for trusting us to be part of your family's adventure!
