As most hoyoverse games are, this game is relatively no different. It feels toxic and overwhelming. The powercreep is INSANE, new characters one-up old characters. I don’t recommend this game one bit

Worst Mechanic Shill You Will EVER See
The newest path, Elation, has had its fair share of shill regarding endgame and enemy types. Nothing new. However, beta version of 4.6’s newest endgame boss has an 80+% damage reduction across the board against everything NOT Elation. As well as a shield that cannot be bypassed without Elation. You will NEVER see this type of shill in any other games outside of HSR or other Hoyo games. This is the type of thing that makes more than 50% of the community give up. It was a nice run, but it’s time to put this game down.

Best game
The game is good it was the most I played a gacha game and the longest time since I get bored easily but I’m sad to say that I can’t get the game anymore because I don’t have enough storage but once I have enough to get more I’ll definitely play again the prices aren’t has much as the other hoyo games and has less fan service and the game story is amazing i just wish I can continue playing it

Yesterday (August 25, 2026) a promotional video for one of their in game characters depicts a black person as a racist caricature. Content like this should not be promoted to the public and I find it extremely disturbing they’d feel so confident to post it when a lot of their players are people of brown skin

I’m going to start with the most recent issue: and for context I’ve been playing since 1.0 with no breaks longer than a week over the years.
HSR has previously faced criticisms of a lack of racial diversity and insensitivity. But Hoyoverse has reached a new low with the new Robin: Summeretto character trailer: “Chasing the Wind” at 0:57-0:58 there’s an explicitly minstrel/blackface caricature.
I’d love to give the benefit of a doubt and assume “that’s not intentional blackface it’s just an unfortunately similar design choice”
But the why, in the previous scene at 0:56, do none of the light-skinned characters from the same organization, designs meant to mimic each other, not have the red-donut lips. The signature design trait of minstrelsy/blackface.
Hoyoverse needs to fix it and apologize, and better yet, hire some black people for their art and social teams that will stop this kind of insensitive, if not straight up harmful, cultural depictions in their content.
Moving onto gameplay topics:
Despite its issues, I’ve enjoyed this game since it was released. But the design of gameplay has steadily decreased for a while.
New Units are not compatible with old ones, and team building is uninteresting, there very limited choice or variation in what kinds of teams can clear content.
The powercreep is awful and few characters are lucky to be strong enough to last more than a few patches without vertical investment.
They no longer have been buffing older characters with NovaFlare, helping them compete, even if only as a worse option, and there hasn’t been a four* character in YEARS.
And worst of all: there are limited f2p options. You are guaranteed one free 5* weapon/light cone a year, and there are very few 4* options. Even less that are good for characters.
And on top of ALL of this. There have been very few events as of late, and those events haven’t had a free weapon(light cone) in over a year.
The female character design especially has gotten strangely bland. I like that old characters have gotten new versions, but so many new characters are the same basic trend of hoyo’s general designs (short frilly dress with no or detached sleeves)
And god forbid any woman gets pants.
Boss HP inflation (and endgame mechanics that exclude previous teams) gets worse every patch and f2p Artifact farming and reroll tools are so insanely limited.
Overall, I do not recommend this game until some quality of life priorities start showing.
While I’d also love the design and story to get better, there’s been some standout quests/characters that would save it otherwise. But considering the slew of other issues I have, it’s just another straw.

I really love the game and graphics but it takes up to much space so i had to delete it, maybe they should do what the did to genshin and make a cloud for hsr
Game is unplayable
I can’t even play this game because it takes up more than 50 gigabytes on my ipad. I don’t have space like that lying around. How come genshin is 30-40 but hsr is so much more than that? I can’t have both of them on the same device because of this storage problem. Too bad, I really wanted to play this.
