Payment method is garbage, they take a 3.5% charge for every transaction and don’t let you store any card information or use PayPal as an alternative
Not intuitive
We used a different lunch app in the past that clearly laid out which restaurants serviced which days- they repeated throughout the school year. For example, every Tuesday was Chick-Fil-A. I could very quickly and easily go in to the calendar, click on Tuesday, choose an order for kid #1, and click “repeat weekly” and pay for it. All in one quick transaction. This does not appear to be possible with ahotlunch. Or at least, if it is possible, I haven’t been able to figure that out after 20 minutes of wrestling with the app and website.

Very confusing
Not intuitive, too many steps to accomplish basic things. Inconsistent with payment capabilities across different users. Avoided this app like the plague all year long.

This app is so glitchy and lacking in logical or intuitive features as to be worse than useless. It’s extremely frustrating to the point that it’s a leading reason in me now packing my kids lunches.

This app is very confusing and not easy to use especially if you have 2 kids. It dose not show your balance for each kid so you never know how much money to add.

Over complicated
Checking out is a nightmare, I always hit the wrong buttons. I can never figure out how to cancel a lunch. The two options to pay are confusing. It has way too much going on and it’s not intuitive.
Horrible unreliable buggy app
This app has been nonstop frustrating the entire school year it continues to cancel orders not process orders you get to the pay option and all the offers disappear the app will also just shut down for no reason middle of the order each and every time you need to restart the process parents need to be able to QUICKLY and without these issues order lunch but I experienced nothing but constant frustration the whole year this app needs major updates and changes it is a horrible user experience

Needs better food options and workflow.
The app doesn’t draw on your Apple Wallet or the stored credit card number. Nor does it use Apple Pay. They also need to ask parents what options they want.
Awful in Every Possible Way
Stunningly bad app, crashes constantly, the UI/UX is like a 4-year-old “designed” it. Absolute garbage. Zero stars, would not recommend ever to anyone.
Super challenging to use
This app is terrible. It’s not user friendly or intuitive, errors out often. It provides different options for how to pay your invoice but only one of them works and often even that method errors out. Currently it’s showing me an unpaid amount and won’t let me order until I pay the amount but doesn’t provide any way to actually pay the amount. Or at least one that I can figure out. If I wasn’t forced to use it to order my kids lunch for school I’d never voluntarily use this app.

Hot Garbage
Hot Lunch app and website continue to be glitchy, bug-ridden, and not user-friendly. At present, I can add things to my cart but not pay for them because nothing actually transfers from the selection screen to the cart, and the pay invoice option never appears. How this software is still being used by schools is beyond me.
