Poor user experience

I attempted to purchase using vouchers but received an error. I tried a few times thinking my voucher number was incorrect then realised it’s because the vouchers can’t be used for that session time. A better error message would have saved me time. I thought I bought some dodgy vouchers!!

Advertising through push notifications

Push notifications should not be used to advertise upcoming film releases

Unable to order drinks or popcorn - only hot food

Pity you can’t order drinks or popcorn/ice cream on the app, so you have to queue up with everyone else…kind of defeats the purpose of buying tickets online so you don’t have to queue…. This is for the Erina Fair store btw

Non Functional

Doesn’t scroll. After selecting AfterPay, no options to proceed. Screen constantly freezing. These issues has been months.

Broken

Only payment by credit card allows you to see the Pay Now button. Other payment options don’t scroll down to see or click on this button.

Great….but there’s a problem

The app is immaculate however it’s now experiencing a weird issue where I can’t access the times of movies saved to my watchlist which has made things infuriating to say the least, but then after I try the Watchlist, now I can’t scroll through the now showing and coming soon table. Please fix asap

Booking Fees

Absolutely insane that in the year 2026 we have to pay an extra $1.75 per ticket if we want to purchase through the app. And you wonder why cinema attendance is down. Between over priced tickets and severely over priced food, who can afford to attend Hoyts frequently?

Hate the small window.

Cannot view the app full screen on my iPad. What’s the point of buying an iPad Pro with a massive screen only to have get hoyts app in a small window on 1/3 of the screen. No matter how many times I have tried I cannot view the app in full screen. Extremely annoying and enough to make me buy tickets at another cinema instead.

Timezone calendar sync is not working

I like in general the app. The only thing that dos not work is when you select to sync your calendar, it adds the movie the at a completely different timezone. It seems that no one reads these reviews and i could not find any place to send this. My movie was today at 1:30pm and when synced to my calendar it shows tomorrow and 5:10am. So the sync calendar is useless for me.

We are going backwards

There is nothing worse than when you are in the process of booking your movie and an unsolicited full screen ad blocks everything in the app. I don’t know who in the Hoyts marketing team approved this abomination but it just ruins the entire user experience. Please take it off.

Used to be really good

The latest update is alright starting to get used to it, but what I really dislike about this app is when you purchase a movie ticket it doesn’t tell you what time the movie finishes! I don’t know why they decided to take that away😡

BROKEN

Doesn’t work, says there’s an internet problem but that’s rubbish. Should be 0, it doesn’t work.

Cannot see your movie tickets on the app

There is an issue with the latest version: if you are a Hoyts Rewards Member and book tickets on the app, the tickets do not show up. I had to find the tickets using my email to show them to the cinema.

No code, no login. Useless.

When trying to log in now you enter your email address then it’s supposed to send you a code… but it doesn’t, ever. No support options, no “can’t login”, nothing. Just a useless app.

Login broken

Can’t sign into my account. “Sorry that email is invalid” but works fine on web browser.

Decent app but...

Does everything it needs to at minimum. However the rewards system is convoluted- it could be simpler.

As an English speaker only I prefer to see movies in the lists without subtitles as I usually don't like reading subtitles in cinema movies.

Can you please add a filter option to remove certain preferences from searches.

Also like why do we have to click every filter every time we search. There should be a select all filter and then they all have the radio button selected, then we can deselect by preference in a given search.

I can never check out

Everything is fine until you check out and then it says it can process the concession or there’s an error.

This app is not reliable and impossible to log into.

I can’t log into the app as it says my email is invalid but the I can log into online with the same email…..

I just want to see movie information and seats not be forced to sign up to Hoyts Rewards

Issues with payment

App will reserve seats and then go to payment and get stuck loading the Apple Pay prompt. No payment goes through and then the seats are reserved and unable to buy, this has lead to me missing out on Disability seats for my father
