Excellent system. I use Lloyds for personal banking which I have always enjoyed and find HSBC every bit as good and feels very ‘fresh and clean’ in its functionality; especially in the app. Well done.

This app does not support push notifications, so you won’t know when a customer has made a payment. Also difficult to make credit card payment. HSBC support very poor! Why change from Kinetic when it worked very well?

The pay an existing payee is clumsy. The search bar covers the results , it’s easy to hit the wrong result . Other banking apps are easier to use .

Trying to get a digital security code is a pain. Most of the time the front screen doesn’t give the option to obtain a code. Wastes me a lot of time and this is my only option to sign into banking

No way to search for transactions
I really hate the way there is no ability in the app to search for specific transactions. So if you need to quickly check whether a customer paid you can’t simply type in their surname and see any transactions link with them you have to open up a desktop computer and get to the correct Tab to be able to even filter these results. I also think it’s ridiculous that you can’t easily rename the Accounts if you have more than one. E.g. spends or savings.

By the time my activation code arrived via text my session had timed out and I had to start over again.

You promised business notifications in 2025 it is now mid 2026 and still no notifications in app such an awful app
Search function
App is fine, but search function for payes is tragic making payments slow and frustrating. Also it doesn’t save the last ref so if you need to make a change (eg paying something for a different service going forward/new account number) then you have to retype every time.
HSBC
I find the banking app extremely reliable and straight forward to use. I am happy to rate it very highly. It’s just great when a system like this just works every time very reliably.
Notifications
I was a kinetic business account holder,was informed that kinetic was being closed,since moving over to business banking I don’t receive any transaction notifications even though all my settings are correct,giving serious thought to changing banks

I've got to be honest—I'm really frustrated with the HSBC UK Business App. Unlike the personal and credit card apps I've used from HSBC, this one doesn’t offer any push notifications for transactions or balance updates. In a world where every other banking app gives you real-time alerts, it feels like we're stuck in the past.
For managing my business finances, staying updated instantly is crucial. I just wish HSBC would catch up with the rest and add this essential feature. It’s 2025, and this is a basic tool every banking app should have!

Previous hsbc app a lot better
This app doesn’t give you notification when you’re spending. And you cannot see the pending transaction until few days later the shop took your money. So if any shop charged you wrong amount you can only find out after 3 days. Any other bank’s app basic function.
