What's New in Hydra

4.0.0

May 16, 2026

Features: - Media viewer rewrite - Hydra in share sheet - Right side thumbnails in compact mode - Collapse child comments only - Filter subreddits temporarily - Support for new wikis - Swipe to scrub videos - Change video playback rate - Landscape mode - Media collection navigation arrows - Post info in media viewer - Swipe to dismiss media - Media viewer optimizations Bugfixes: - Music no longer randomly pauses while scrolling. I think I fixed this, but I haven't been able to consistently reproduce the bug, so if you experience this, a bug report would be appreciated. - Posts with a collection of videos only displayed the first video. - Scrubbing while in gallery mode locks vertical scrolling for a smoother experience. - Links that are slow to respond to requests for metadata are skipped, resulting in much faster loads in the worst cases. - Fixed image posts momentarily showing the wrong image. - Some link sources like Wikipedia would fail to show an image. - Fixed shadowbanned users being unable to log in. - Text URLs containing backslashes that weren't marked as links in markdown were parsed incorrectly. - Posts linking to other Reddit pages (e.g. /r/wowthissubexists) weren't rendering as links. - Having a multireddit named "All" would cause the "All" button to disappear in the subreddit list. - Hydra warns you when attempting to reply in a locked or archived post.

Wer Apollo vermisst…

wird hier glücklich!

Best Reddit option by far

Reminiscent of Apollo. Easy to navigate, intuitive. The ONLY thing it’s missing is that if you accidentally (or not) swipe from your feed back to list of subreddits and try to swipe back, the feed starts back over rather than from where you left off. But you can set it to hide posts you e already seen so it’s close. 5/5 app even without that feature.

Fantastic Reddit client!!

I love how fluid hydra is. It is worth using for the gallery mode alone!

Nothing Loads

Nothing loads. Not home, not popular, not all, not any search. Nothing but the settings. Disappointing.

Great App

Great app - probably better than Apollo.
