Terrible app

Why do i need to make an account and give all this info to see station info? I dont even own a hydrogen car yet and am trying to see if its worth it and this app alone is making it a bad idea to me. Seriously i just switch apps and it signed me out instantly. Also is says its realtie. But everything says last updated 7-24 hours ago

UX needs improvement

I’m looking at a replacement for H2Guru since it isn’t being maintained and it no longer syncs with SOSS. This app has some issues/limitations:

Takes too long to open (>3 seconds “Loading Data”)

No sort settings with filter. I would rather have the list sorted by distance than alphabetical when filtering by distance (“near me”).

No obvious way to bookmark a station (apparently I have to take a survey first? Just let me tap a heart or star icon on the station or something).

Here’s my ultimate goal: one tap of the app icon and it shows me the status (and capacity) of my favorite station(s) and the other nearest ones around me, within 2 seconds. This takes too many presses and too many seconds.

Thanks Tomocafe. We agree and are working to improve the user experience. With that, here are a few tips (working with the current app version) to get the information you’re looking for… Yes, submit a survey for the stations you’re interested in seeing at a glance. They’ll appear on your landing page and can be rearranged by pressing and holding to re-order. We publish information, but the broader FCEV community, station operators and OEMs also benefit from crowdsourced feedback. The station snapshots added to your landing page will show you the current status AND capacity of the stations you’ve provided feedback for. And if you’d like to remove a station from the landing page, you can also press and hold to delete. Distance and trip planning are top of mind for us (along with $/kg) and we are set to deploy a head unit version for easy navigation soon. If you have other UX suggestions or feedback please reach out to our team at admin@hellohygo.com. Thank you!

Great app

I do wish prices of the H2 was listed at each station

Black screen after OS upgrade

The app is not useable after iPhone OS upgrade. It is ok the first time then black screen. need to cycle the iPhone power to open it again.

The latest version should resolve issues related to iOS v16

Glitches on ios16

Hit or miss if it loads, usually goes directly to blank screen and if you keep trying it sometimes loads and works like normal

Where is the pricing information?

This app is pretty useful, but it would really be great if the dollars per kilogram feature worked. But I can’t figure out how to get it to work. Hopefully the can developer can chime in and point the way. In the settings, it looks like there is a way to set that option, but I don’t see how to save that option. With the cost of fuel being so expensive, a price comparative tool would certainly be very useful.

Hi EctoSlymer - our team works hard to provide as much information to our users as possible. $/KG is a crowdsourced feature and as such, relies on users to report prices observed at each station (although if Operators self reported, we would also publish it). To view $/kg for your favorite stations you need to submit feedback for at least one station so it appears on your dashboard. Once the station is visible on the Dashboard you’ll see the $/kg from the most recent Driver Report. If you’d like to adjust the view, in “Settings”, you can toggle between data on the Dashboard, either $/kg or KGs dispensed. If you have questions about app usage or would like to see new features please feel free to contact us at admin@hellohygo.com.

Good, could be great

I just learned about this app even though I’ve had my fuel cell car for over a year. It is very useful so far and an excellent way to share information. Two more capabilities would make it a great app: - Ability to make locations “favorite” so they are on top of the list to facilitate access to info; and - A graphic of a stations hydrogen inventory over time, say a month, so that there is better visibility into availability. How many times have you driven to a station just as it was going offline due to lack of hydrogen? Maybe these features are there and I haven’t found them yet, I’m new to the app, as I said. But I’m really grateful for all the info already at my fingertips with Hygo.
Edited: After hearing from the developer, changed to 5 stars. The capabilities I requested are there, in a fashion, which makes the app more useful. A longer inventory look back period would still help IMO.

Thanks Ear Eclectic! Check out these features, we think they’ll improve your experience. “Favorites” are added to the main Dashboard screen once you’ve submitted a survey for that station. They’ll appear in alphabetical order, but you can click and hold each station snapshot to re-order. “H2 Inventory” charts are on the Station Details page. Access this view by selecting a station from the list view, or by selecting any corner of the station snapshot on the Dashboard. There is a 72 hour look back for H2 inventory, and a 24 hour look back for uptime and driver reports. “Alerts” can be subscribed to for each station, also enabled on the Station Details page. Select the bell icon to receive push notifications when a station receives a fresh H2 delivery, when the station is low on fuel, or when the Operator posts a note. App description wrong. Does not provide $/KG

The app does not provide the data that it states in the description

Good app, now even better

EDIT: The new version is nicely enhanced in both function and appearance, nice work! One feature I miss is the Busy Times graphic. It was helpful for planning. I’ve used HYGO much more than the cafcp.com mobile site. HYGO is essential for FCEV owners. And the infrastructure is getting more reliable lately. Hmmm. Having this info in the hands of drivers probably helps motivate the H2 distributors to stay “green.” (So to speak.) :)

OP: Just got a beautiful 2021 Mirai. My new job is to hunt for hydrogen. Hygo worked well for 2 months before the purchase (to scope out H2 availability) and 2 weeks after purchase (to find online H2 stations for refueling). Suddenly my iPhone stopped trusting the app. Deleted and reinstalled, now working. Appreciate quick response from developer. Suggest the next version include “refresh” in addition to “online” and “offline”—as pausing to repressurize is normal and teaches patience. Serious dispenser or compressor trouble OTOH means “Go elsewhere!”

Hi casacollins - sorry to hear you're having trouble. We'd like to hear more about the issue you experienced, please contact us at admin@hellohygo.com. We value your feedback, and we're happy to report a new version is coming out soon.

Useful

This is probably the only useful app for hydrogen fueling on Apple devices. It works pretty well too.

Great app for looking for hydrogen

Great app for hydrogen status without launching cafcp or other websites. I would like though if the app supports CarPlay, so I don’t need to take the phone out of my pocket. 😁😁

GREAT APP!

HYGO is a MUST for any FCEV owner! It’s so accurate and easy to use. Cafcp.org is frequently incorrect with old info but HYGO is dead honest every time. I never head to an H2 station without checking HYGO first! It’s laid out well and and easy to understand. I especially love logging my miles per fill. That’s a very cool feature. HYGO should be preloaded in every FCEV sold! If you drive a fuel cell electric vehicle Hygo is a must!
