About

IFC Query Studio is a focused IFC model interrogation tool for BIM, digital construction and information management workflows. Import IFC models and query the data behind the model, not just the geometry. IFC Query Studio helps you inspect entity counts, search objects, check properties, review classifications, examine quantities, understand storey relationships and export structured query results. Built for iPhone, iPad and native macOS, the app is designed for users who need a practical IFC data workbench without opening a heavyweight authoring package. Key features: • Import IFC files • IFCZIP support where valid IFC files are present • View schema, file size, entity counts and model metadata • Query by IFC entity type, including walls, doors, windows and spaces • Search by GlobalId, name, property set, property name and property value • Find missing names, missing GlobalIds, missing classifications and missing type assignments • Inspect property sets, quantities, classifications and spatial/storey information where available • Use built-in starter queries for common BIM data checks • Build AND/OR style queries using discovered model values • Save and reuse custom queries • Inspect raw IFC entity details • Copy GlobalIds, STEP ids and raw entity text • Export query results as CSV and JSON IFC Query Studio is deterministic. Query results come from the parsed IFC model data and are not guessed or invented. The app is built for local IFC interrogation, with no account required and no cloud processing required for core functionality. Whether you are checking BIM deliverables, investigating model data, reviewing classification coverage, finding missing object information or exploring IFC contents, IFC Query Studio gives you a clean and focused way to interrogate IFC files.

What's New in IFC Query Studio

1.1

August 8, 2026

IFC Query Studio 1.1 introduces Smart Views, giving you a more visual way to interrogate IFC model data. New in this version: • Smart Views for query-driven model visualisation • View IFC query results in a local 3D renderer • Colour and highlight model elements from deterministic query results • Smart View legends for clearer result interpretation • Improved query result metadata for visual checks • Enhanced CSV and JSON exports with Smart View information • Improved local WebKit renderer packaging for iOS, iPadOS and macOS • Better runtime handling for IFC imports and visual query payloads • Stability improvements across iPhone, iPad and native macOS Smart Views are powered by the deterministic IFC query engine, so results are based on the imported model data rather than guessed or generated output.
