Not easy
Though this seems it should be easy to navigate, it’s not.
First, when I called the number it gave me the option to hold on to complete the payment but when I held on it told me I had to use the link. Long pauses throughout.
After that, I tried using the service and it looped me twice. Again long pauses with not directions or even saying there would be a long pause.
Finally, once I got my invoice information complete, there was a very long pause. No message about it being accepted. No confirmation number. No thank you … blah blah.
For this to be such vast system, the phone technology seems antiquated and needs a serious update.

We should go back to putting loose change in a basket, because Illinois tollway is a scam. If your transponder doesn’t work, you get charged. If your credit card expires, you get charged $4.50/toll.
Why the tollway is a bad idea
The tollway is poorly maintained and ill managed. The app has errors that are not corrected. The roads are in horrible condition and traffic is constantly backed up. I Do not recommend the tollway or the app. I Only use it because I don’t want the transponder.

Both your mobile app and your website make it very difficult to find and use the pay-by-plate portal.

I tried to put my payment information in, and it would not take. I tried several times. Now I have no idea if my payment went through or not.
