About
inDepth Apnea is breath-hold training for freedivers, spearfishers and anyone who wants to hold their breath longer. It runs on your phone, no watch needed. Add a Garmin watch and it gets a lot more powerful.
TRAIN ON DRY LAND, STARTING TODAY
Dry training is the part of freediving you can do on your living-room floor: CO2 tables, O2 tables, static holds, apnea walks and residual-volume work. inDepth Apnea builds each session for you, talks you through it with voice and haptic cues, and records what actually happened, including when your first contraction came and how each hold ended.
BUILT ON HOW TRAINING ACTUALLY WORKS
Breath-hold is trainable, and the body adapts to it the same way it adapts to any other load. inDepth Apnea applies the principles every serious sport is coached by:
• Progressive overload. Every table is a share of your measured personal best, and each exercise climbs a ladder of levels. You earn the next rung by completing the current one cleanly, not by guessing.
• Specificity. CO2 tolerance, O2 tolerance and the urge to breathe are different limiters and respond to different work. The app reads your sessions, tells you which one is holding you back, and points you at the exercises that train it.
• Periodization. Pick a Base, Specific or Peaking phase and the week is planned around it: how often the key session comes around and how hard it runs.
• Recovery. Rest is prescribed, not left to chance. Sessions per week is a setting, and the plan records what is scheduled rather than pushing streaks.
• Honest feedback. Stopping early because you felt light-headed or panicked ends the session on the spot. It can never count as a pass or a personal best, and the app never answers a warning sign by asking for more.
WHAT A GARMIN WATCH ADDS
Put inDepth Apnea on your Garmin watch and training moves onto your wrist and into the water:
• Dry sessions with your eyes shut. The watch runs the table, buzzes the phases and records your heart rate through every hold. Your week's plan goes across on sync.
• Depth sessions. Full depth profile, descent and ascent rates, hang time, water temperature and the heart-rate trace through the dive. Surface-rest models (2x/3x, Adaptive, Taravana, Molchanovs) flag any dive you started before you had recovered.
• Pool sessions rep by rep. Per-length splits, rest between reps, discipline (DYN, DYNB, DNF, STA) and a per-rep heart-rate trace. Build a pool workout on the phone and sync it to the watch to swim it.
• One logbook. Dry, depth and pool sessions in a single newest-first list, with trends and personal bests across all three.
The watch apps are free and install from your computer in a couple of minutes. Instructions and supported Garmin models: https://in-depth.app/help
YOUR DATA
Name, tag and annotate sessions. Export everything as CSV, or write a single-file backup you can restore on another phone. Cloud backup is optional and needs a sign-in only if you want it.
SAFETY
inDepth Apnea is a training tool, not a dive computer and not a medical device. Never train breath-holds in or near water alone, and never do dry holds standing up.
COMPATIBILITY
Works on its own for dry training. Watch features require the inDepth Apnea Blue, Pool or Dry app on a supported Garmin device and Garmin Connect Mobile. Garmin, fenix, Descent and Connect IQ are trademarks of Garmin Ltd.; inDepth Apnea is not affiliated with or endorsed by Garmin.
