Videos are creeping in again
The app improved since my last review several months ago. There’s actually articles instead of videos.
However! I see the videos are creeping in again and often there’s no article version. I get that many young people consume news via video, but I can’t watch videos in public but I can read articles. At least provide an option for both.

Functional but poorly designed news app.
I use this app often. There aren’t many options out there for a local news app. In general it does all the things correctly. My biggest issue are video and the inability to zoom in on things like images.
The video always has description text you can’t get rid of. That clutters up the screen. When you turn it horizontal, the site navigation controls cover up the scroll bar so you can’t use it. The weather blog forecasts are full of images you see on their broadcast but you can’t zoom in on them so some information on them is unreadable especially if you don’t have great vision. I find both of those frustrating UI design decisions but they are fixable.

This news app is the best local and otherwise news app that I’ve ever used! I love the weather alert updates that are sent straight to my phone so matter were I am I’ll always know what bad weather is coming and exactly what to do in the event of a bad storm! Most of the times I heard it from the app before I do the tv or other outlets! Amazing in all ways. Hands down #1 news/weather app!!!!!

Awful compared to old weather app
Quite possibly the worst downgrade ever when compared to the former WTHR weather app. The radar on this app is abysmal compared to the old app. Terrible decision to get rid of the former app.

I don’t live near Indianapolis. I live between Bloomington and Spencer near a spec on the map called Whitehall. It’s difficult to get good weather coverage here. WTHI out of Terre Haute used to be decent, but I think they are under new owners. They have basically jumped on the crazy train and absolutely abandoned everything good that they used to have. I was struggling this evening trying to find anything that could show me live, up to the minute coverage of the impending storm. I happened upon a WTHR advertisement and thought, well, it’s Indianapolis, but I’ll try it. I was amazed. Angela Buchman and the rest of the gang were incredible. Detailed , live coverage of my part of the state. They were all professional, yet remained very relatable. Like someone you would invite to a cookout in your backyard. From now on, they will be the storm team I look too for information during severe weather. Thank you all for helping me get through a very difficult storm.

Weather link does not work
When I click on weather, I get booted out of the app. We have severe storms tonight so very poor timing for app to malfunction. Please bring back the old weather app. This one is awful!!
Clunky, Unreliable App
I only have to believe the rating of this app has been manipulated. Absolutely no way it has a 4.8 naturally. This app is clunky. Constantly doesn’t load all content on pages. The weather portion in general is horrid. Sometimes the radar just doesn’t work. Sometimes trying to open radar will auto close the app. It’s clear they tried to make this with the least amount of money and resources possible. Uninstalled after two years. Cannot deal with it any longer.

WTHR in Indianapolis is the station I believe, has unbiased coverage good reporting as well as also including uplifting stories. Love when the reporters help solving problems that viewers may encounter and ask for help.

Weather warnings
I appreciate the severe warnings when I need to gather my dogs and hunker down in my safe place. Even if the power goes out, I can still see the radar and hear when danger is near on my phone. Our weather people are really on top of the forecast. Thank you so much.

I like the app however, I liked the previous one better I found it easier to follow. But I am a huge fan of WTHR and especially Scott Swan. He is a total professional.
Bring back the separate weather app
The old (and separate) weather app was so much better. This combined app's weather isn't as detailed and just over all is terrible compared to the old separate app. Changes need to be made!
