About
Internet radio as a turntable.
You put a station on like a record and lower the needle. Hold the phone still
and the stream plays clean. Move it and it scratches. Move it too much and the
needle jumps off — the station is gone until you set it down again.
That is the whole app. No score, no timer, no ad break in the middle of a song.
STATIONS
Add station manually or search a online list. What
you add goes to your favourites and starts the next time you open the app. Every
station is free and stays free.
A SIDE RUNS OUT AFTER 30 MINUTES
Then you hear the run-out groove and turn the record over. If you would rather
not, buy Auto-Reverse once.
THE TURNTABLE
The shelf holds heavier tonearms and finer styli. A heavy arm stays in the
groove longer; a fine stylus makes the scratching softer. Everything is a
one-time purchase. No subscription, nothing that expires.
HARDCORE MODE
For anyone who finds it too easy: the slightest movement is enough. It is the
only thing on the shelf that makes the app harder instead of easier.
IN THE BACKGROUND
The stream keeps playing with the screen off, with controls on the lock screen.
There is a pocket mode that suspends the mechanic — otherwise the needle would
jump constantly in there.
Internet Radio Vinyl Edition needs the motion sensor. That is the core mechanic,
not a side feature. If you would rather just listen to the radio, you can turn it
off in the settings.
