On verge of cancelling due to subscription problem
Hardly worth the subscription as 9/10 accesses I can’t read anything apart from the first two paragraphs. I’ve complained in the past but it’s never fixed. Have deleted app and will reload it but if I still can’t access the full stories I’m going to cancel the subscription. I see someone else had the same issue six years ago. Will it ever be fixed?

Freeze frame
I really enjoy the content, but the app is horrendous. The constant freezing of pages leaving no option but to close the app and re enter is a pain in the hole.
Lying by not reporting the truth
Hello I’m from Ireland living in the US for nearly 30 years I have a payed subscription to the Irish Independent app for years and have always used the newspaper to stay current on what’s happening but I have lost trust and will not continue to support this newspaper because you don’t cover what’s really going on in the country about how small rural communities are being destroyed by immigration you’re no longer a trustworthy source you don’t cover the real stories of people losing their hotel s there jobs their communities are being destroyed while you write stories about unimportant issues you are a bought and paid for one sided rag that can’t be trusted to cover the real issues

The Indo is not the newspaper it used to be. The newspaper is not balanced and fair.
It has become a liberal and gossip newspaper. The standard of journalism has fallen at the Indo. I still enjoy it’s sports coverage.

Bad idea
Not going to waste much time on this. I did try to write some thing before but required a name on the piece and every name I tried it said that it was already taken and I tried some very unusual names so it’s clear to me that you’re not that interested in what I have to say.
However, I will tell you this, the number of stories that are marked as premium is ridiculous know what our newspaper does this I can read the New York Times I can read the Wall Street Journal body independent marks so many stories as premium you don’t get to read much of anything that’s in the paper at all which is just crazy.

The app is easy to use and to read. It mirrors the paper edition and has performed problem free for the few weeks I have used it. Well worth the cost for quality writing and decent journalism.
iOS 9.3.6 iPad mini not supported
iPad mini with latest iOS version 9.3.6 is not supported. I'm very disappointed. Why not to include it as a compatible device? Please include it and I'll update review.
Loved it before they started charging.
I like the Independent but the new charges are just not worth it. I understand that the business is taking a huge hit and they need the revenue but I just don’t see enough people paying these prices.

Ignores my subscription
I don’t agree with some of the other indignant reviews about being asked to pay a subscription, as I don’t think this is unreasonable, even if the price is high. However what I do think is unreasonable is that after signing up and paying, the app frequently doesn’t recognise that I have subscribed and doesn’t let me see the content I have paid for. This is outrageous and needs to be sorted ASAP.

Low performing app
Many of the links for non premium articles do not open. This has happened since the most recent redesign.
Absolutely appalling and sneaky
This is a terrible app. Not only are they sneaky in their data collection but you have to pay to read their content. The management should hang their heads in shame at gouging their customers. Smacks of Ryanair - nasty and uncaring about thei customers

I have gone from loving the articles to hating this app. First it was the pop up load video ads, then just pop up ads and now you want us to pay to read your articles. No thank you. You have lost my readership.

Why would I pay you when I can read any other Irish newspaper for free ?! Your articles a full of spelling errors and all sorts of mistakes. Too many adds also. Useless.
