It is not a free app any longer!!! Sad!
I have been using the BBC News app for over 10 years. It was the best news app, in my opinion. However, the app and bbc.com is by subscription only now. Honest news will go to die behind the paywall. And democracy will soon follow.
Sadly I am deleting the app.

Increasing errors and unclear access
The quality of BBC reporting has been going down recently—they quickly release articles that often have whole paragraphs copy-pasted from other articles of theirs on the topic and have recently had more and more sloppy editing issues with repeat words and incomplete sentences. This does not make me inclined to pay for the subscription. However, it is increasingly frustrating to use the app without a subscription as there is no clarity into what parts are free and how many articles can be accessed per week or month. I may have to download a different news service app soon and delete this one. It’s a shame since it was good for years.

US Subscription the last hammer in the wall
Each update made this app just a little worse. Now an attempt to put many of the most important articles behind a pay wall (in the US) is forcing me away. The Beeb just announced a 550 person layoff. Typical best of British that us Brits managed to ruin and allow others to take over being the best. Ohh…and the live updates don’t work consistently in the app. I get a loop of it signing in and out of my BBC account in an infinite loop. Tried signin-in/out, reinstalling…nothing fixes it. I find the best way to get the BBC news is to delete the app and use the web access to the BBC. That worked fine (but find myself using the Guardian App now more).

Not free
Not listed when you download the app but it is not free. It requires a subscription. This should be stated up front.
Bye-Bye BBC
Disappointed that so much content is blocked by a paywall. Not worth the effort to scroll through.
