Itchy for Scratch User Reviews

Top reviews

Really good

This is really frickin good but it would definitely be better if we could remix projects and have a built in keyboard for those keyboard projects

ABSOLUTELY WROTH MY TIME

8 months ago, I recently released my first and very own major project, but I have problems with Apple’s double tap feature on anything that’s a browser, Apple had their OS’s to when the user double taps a point of the screen, it zooms in right there, and that what makes the scratch site non touchscreen friendly and it very annoying. surprise my third time searching scratch on the App Store, I came across this app, and the screenshots and reviews made it look promising, I’m now noticing it has no ads, plus no subscription required. And let me tell you, I actually never regretted getting app, because it gives you a build-in web extension for free. This will be the perfect application to test my project when I don’t have a computer (at least until I do get a computer tbh). You are most welcome to get a five star review

this app bro… 💔

Everytime I click on an project, it always says “something went wrong” like what the hell is wrong with this app? Why did I think this app had no glitches? Fix this.

BEST APP EVER

Best app ever the developer is lowkey cute too

It's nice, but I have a few suggestions

Overall, the app works well, and there are no large issues. As far as I have seen, the search function works alright. I do still have a few suggestions though: A button to open your own user profile, without searching for it; the ability to join a studio after you have been invited in your messages; the ability to put a project in full screen, maybe with controller buttons overlayed or to the sides; iPad support, of course; and maybe a little bit of UI customisation, such as changing the colours of the background and highlights to any specific colour. Currently, the app looks just a little bleak, in my opinion, compared to the original homepage of the Scratch website, and I think the ability to customise the colours of the UI would make it feel a little bit more fun. Also, I think that comments on all pages shouldn't be hid behind a button, and should just be scrolled into. Being a pop-up menu, they feel like a minor feature, while for many people comments are the place where the most time is spent; thus the pop-up sliding over the rest can make the screen feel a little fragile to be on for extended periods of time (easily swiped away, not really intended to be the main menu, etc.) As it is now, I would recommend Itchy for anyone who enjoys playing platformers or games where the input is almost entirely from the keyboard; but games relying a lot on finely positioned clicks can be very difficult due to the small size of the project player. Itchy is also nice for the social aspects of Scratch, but, as I said, would feel more comfortable if the comments were more prioritised. A couple things I really like about it: Firstly, the local multiplayer feature, since it is really quite innovative and I can already think of a few new kinds of projects that can be made with it; and secondly, the ability to see more than just a few recent things that the people you follow have been doing. Especially for those who follow a lot of people but still care about what each of them are doing, this app is extremely useful. I give it a 4/5 - I hope my suggestions are taken into consideration, as after that I think this app would be completely perfect. One other thing: Though I think that for iPhones the feature shouldn't be added, since it would be practically impossible to make anything, the regular Scratch editor as-is would be nice to have on the iPad version of the app if it is made. This would spare the inconvenience of having to switch to the browser on an iPad whenever you'd want to make a project.

It’s a good app, but lacking and very buggy.

The search function currently does not work. I can’t even view my own projects or profiles with this. Also at the top of the ‘What’s Happening’ tab at the top right corner, hitting the ‘More ->’ button crashes the app for me.
Playing projects on this is very hard, as they can appear to be a bit small. There’s no way to “full screen” a project to make it appear bigger.
Don’t get me wrong. I like the idea of this app, but I think it still needs some work for it to be actually useful.

Nearly perfect (keyword Nearly)

(Edit: This development looks great! Keep it up!)

(Edit: I just realized you can use the Itchy client to evade Scratch’s stupid new age verification rule. This app is amazing :D)

The app is great, it runs really well. Especially handy when you’re using Scratch on the go.

However, there are some minor issues, including Turbowarp UI not working often (Fixed). Along with that, any project that needs microphone, camera, etc… permissions will crash the app.

Other than that, the app is pretty smooth and shows information on profiles and displays comments better than Scratch in my opinion. Now the one thing I’m waiting for is the actual ability to edit and create projects…

Response from developer

Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback! We'll configure the microphone permissions better in the next update, the camera permission request should not crash Itchy anymore! Oh - and hopefully your Turbowarp issues have all been fixed in the most recent update! For editing and creating projects, that is unfortunately not a priority currently, as it is very hard to embed the scratch editor into such a small screen (especially in terms of UX) and the actual use case of this is hard to determine. Scratch does seem to offer an official offline Mobile Project builder on other Platforms, but not on iOS so far.

THE ONLY GOOD WAY TO ACCESS SCRATCH ON MOBILE

I use this on Mac, and it’s okay… but PLZ MAKE IT USEABLE ON MAC. Like add back buttons in comment menus. I know its a lot of work, but it will attract a higher client fanbase

Finally

Bro let’s GOOOO!!! Finally a good app for Scratch dude!! It is so well done and it’s super duper easy to navigate. Everything is smoother than a slip n’ slide at Olive Garden. So many pros to this app that it’s practically a ranked Fortnite game. Insanely good app frfr. Only con I found was that your ringer had to be on for sound which is kinda wack, but lowkey it’s such a small con that this app gets a big w anyway. W’s in the chat

Amazing app, great potential

Amazing app, very greatly coded, and people don’t understand how complicated this had to have been. I am rating this 5 stars because of how good the app is, and unlike others rating it one star because of a singular bug

Pretty good

It is pretty good and works well! The only bug I encountered was the messages page not working even when I am logged in. It’s just a black screen. Other than that the app works pretty well!

How can I create projects??

It’s good but I want to make projects, can you make this as an update?

Amazing app, great potential

I’m surprised people are leaving bad reviews on this app, this app is amazing, you can view your messages, open projects, comment, follow, view, favorite, like, all of that! There are some things to add like being able to mark the messages as read and seeing inside the code, remixing, and other stuff. I really like the idea of Explore More which is an infinite scroll of projects kind of like a social media (TikTok, Youtube Shorts, etc) and that you can do many others thing with that!

One of my favorite Scratchers

You’re actually so good, this app is amazing, and i love your ileb.os project too! if it could be my main OS, I would. Now i can make a mobile OS without the screen being incredibly small when it asks something!

Still some bugs

whenever i try to press the green flag button it doesn’t start the project which is a bug

Great concept

This is a great app. I love checking messages on mobile but the projects don’t play when you click the green flag. How do I fix this?

It good but there are some problems

Sometimes it just doesn’t want to start the project and I have trouble trying to map the layout(but that just might be me) but everything else is fine

Please fix the green flag

You can’t even press the green flag, so what’s the point of this app. IPhone 13, iOS 17
