About

Some questions only matter for about ten seconds. Someone says "I wonder why they stopped making those" — and by the time you could look it up, the conversation has moved three subjects on. Pulling your phone out mid-sentence is both rude and the fastest way to kill the thing that made the question interesting in the first place. iWonderWhat catches them for you. HOW IT WORKS Start a listening session — before dinner, a walk, a meeting. iWonderWhat listens for the shape of a question. When someone says "I wonder…", "why is…", "how long is…", "what do you think…", it quietly lands in a queue. You carry on talking. Or tap Catch that, and it grabs whatever was said in the last 45 seconds — backwards. Because you almost never know a question is interesting until it's already gone. Catch that is on the Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island, in Control Centre, on your Action Button, or a double-tap on the back of your phone. Later, when you've got a minute, swipe through what you caught and send each one to Google, Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity or Wikipedia. Or bin it. SAY THE WORD Turn on the spoken command and just say "GoWonder" — the last question you caught gets looked up. No hands, no screen, no stopping the conversation. IT STAYS ON YOUR PHONE This is the part that matters. • Speech is turned into text by your iPhone, using Apple's on-device model. Nothing is sent to a server to be transcribed. • Audio is never written to disk. It goes from the microphone into the recogniser and is discarded. There is no recording, no file, nothing to recover. • The rolling transcript lives in memory for a couple of minutes and is wiped when the session ends. Only the questions you actually caught are saved. • No account. No sync. No analytics. No third-party SDKs. The app contains no networking code at all — the only thing that ever leaves your phone is a search you tapped. Listening only ever happens in a session you started, a Live Activity sits on your Lock Screen for the whole of it, and sessions stop themselves after a time limit so a forgotten one can't run all day. ONE ASK If you're using this around other people, tell them. Recording people without their knowledge is illegal in a lot of places, and it's rude everywhere else. MADE FOR Dinner arguments. Long drives. Walks with someone interesting. Meetings where three good questions go past and you remember none of them. Anyone whose search history is a graveyard of things they half-remembered. Requires an iPhone running iOS 26 or later.
