AI needs some work
For the cost of this service, I expected quicker turnaround for the CGM coming. It took several weeks, all while I was paying a high monthly cost that I couldn’t take advantage of without the CGM data. I also paid extra for a 2nd sensor and it didn’t come (nor did the patches to stick over them) until I reached out to support. Then when I wanted to cancel my account there is no way to do so in the app. I spent too much time reading online, not finding the answer. When I asked the AI bot in the app, it told me I could delete my account in the Account Settings in the app, but there’s no option to do so. When I asked the bot again what to do if I couldn’t do that it said to go to the Help and Support knowledge base, meaning more reading and searching. Eventually I have to open a ticket to just delete my account. For a company based in AI, it doesn’t feel like it’s being used efficiently, unless hiding how to delete accounts is the aim. Otherwise, I found the food logging steps to be a little tedious at times. Not terrible, but not I did forget the extra step of logging the meal once I had added all the components of it together and had to start over. The UI could improve there. The integration with my Apple Watch was nice. I already log my fluid intake in a different app that feeds into Health, but that didn’t go from Health to January.ai.

Customer Service non-existent
Perhaps a good product but can’t tell as no help w set up. No reply from customer service. V disappointing
Don’t bother to use anymore!
Needs to synch to Lose It instead of requiring dual entry into this app, which is not great.
Glucose monitor
Prediction not correlative to measurement.
Doesn't work
Stopped syncing with Libre on day 2 of training, so probably going to be a HUGE waste of money.
Do not waste your money
Interesting, until all the inconsistencies with the software, and the CGM started showing up. Never received the reports/recommendations that were outlined in the initial advertisement? The daily log for recording the food you consume could of been more robust - the ability to modify the existing food resources for reporting food consumption.

Not reliable
There are two apps required to track that are supposed to communicate to eachother, but the Januaryai app keeps disconnecting from the glucose monitor’s app. Constantly having to reconnect and re-sign in after a few hours of not using it. Data gets lost and not transferred. Customer service is not responding.

Don’t waste your money
They never delivered a final report. Even the midterm report has disappeared and the app no longer recognizes my email. Monitoring the glucose levels day to day was interesting but I was expecting some sort of actionable suggestions at the end. The only report I saw would say things like “your sensitivity is 30.” 30 out of what? 100? 1000? Is the low number good or bad? This was a giant waste of money. There are other services that do the same thing. Avoid January

Beyond helpful
Understanding my glucose levels is a game changer
Great Tracking App
As an optimizer and being generally conscious and curious about impact of nutrition. This iteration of the app really allows me to interact with it in a meaningful way, allowing me to reach my targets and explore what else I could be doing.
By far the best glucose tracking and metabolic health app
I don’t typically write reviews but January blew me away. I originally joined the program for their glucose monitoring and to learn how my body responds to various foods. What keeps me, however, is all the other insight I didn’t expect — an AI health coach that’s personalized based on my data, for example. Or my macros (I don’t use MyFitnessPal anymore!), or sleep tracking, fasting period, and so on. It really is super comprehensive.
In fact, I learned that a protein shake I was having during the day was spiking my blood sugar so much that it made me feel lethargic. I never even thought about blood sugar as a reason I had the afternoon blues, but the giant spike on my January app proved otherwise. The app also recommended me another protein option that worked for my macros but didn’t spike my glucose nearly as much, and what do you know, I feel so much more energetic throughout the day with no crash.
These insights have truly helped me alter the way I live. I can look up foods before I eat them to make smarter decisions, my AI coach suggests recipes that work for my unique metabolism, and I don’t need to wear a CGM all the time to get this insight (January is the only program I’ve seen that allows this). And CGMs are EXPENSIVE! So this is a huge plus.
Overall I’m super happy with my experience thus far. It’s a new app so there were a few niggles here and there initially, but they push out regular updates so it’s nothing I was concerned about.
Highly recommended.
