What's New in Japan Income Wall Simulator
1.2
October 19, 2026
Updated for 2026 income (Japan's FY2026 tax reform). - The income-tax-free line is now ¥1.78M, the spousal and dependent line ¥1.36M and the residence-tax line ¥1.19M. Earlier versions used the 2025 values (¥1.6M). - Wall amounts are now calculated from the deduction tables for each tax year. The 2025 and 2026–2027 rules are kept separately. - New wall: the special spousal deduction starts to shrink at ¥1.69M, separate from the income-tax wall. - Enter your hourly wage to see how many more hours you can work, next to the 20-hour social insurance rule. - When you are in the "working at a loss" dip, the main screen says so in yen. - Year-end projections list every wall you will reach, ordered by cost. - Fixed: buying Pro did not unlock the home screen widget. - Delete monthly records, open past years, and export or restore a backup. - The chart now shows the loss zone in red; amount fields no longer drop digits; unsaved edits ask before closing; large text sizes no longer cut off totals. - Pro is now a one-time purchase instead of a monthly or yearly subscription. No recurring charges.
