I feel jipped. New expensive amp and this is the software for it? Doesn’t even seem real. Jeez JBL. What is it even for?

The app doesn’t work
Only the virtual power button works in the app. Nothing else works. It is really a minimal effort app even if it worked.
Practically worthless app, it does nothing
Not only is the unit hard to pair with your phone app to or any other device and set up Wi-Fi EEQ and all that so complicated it is not user-friendly at all the app or the device JBL failed. It’s got great power great sound great performance, but the interface and the app seriously need an overhaul and for me to have owned this unit for over a year and they still have not fixed what they promised me. They failed the consumer and there’s nothing on YouTube.

Questionable use
I’m not sure the purpose of the app. It lacks any usefulness with the just the most basic of settings.

This is an absolute abortion of an app. I have JBL’s top receiver in their newest line and the app does almost nothing for it. I can’t even use it as a basic remote for basic functions. Just have ChatGPT write you a basic app for basic controls. If the interface of the os itself and the app don’t get a massive overhaul in the very near future I will absolutely be replacing JBL products in every manner and watch the company’s demise from afar.

Unacceptable
Let me just start by saying this is the worst device app I’ve ever used. For a stereo receiver released in 2025 this is a very sad attempt. Even the app connectivity is terrible. The functions are few and far between. It’s hardly worth my time writing this review, and it’s unfortunate because I think the receiver is quite good and as good aesthetic. I just hope that somebody from JBL sees this and considers making a new app that works.
Things that need fixed: you should be able to open the app and turn the receiver on remotely.
I should be able to set up the receiver and view and change settings from the app.
Additionally, I should be able to perform in depth receiver, set up such as room calibration settings, all from the app.

Technically functional
Please make this a functional replacement for the remote work input switching and volume control. Bonus point if you can a widget for the Home Screen!

I’ve had this jbl ma310 amp for 4 months and it sounds like trash. Last time I ever buy jbl anything. Sounded good the first week and after updates and internet connection it sounds like trash

Not sure why everyone is hating on the app, works super well. Basically all you can do is connect it to Wi-Fi and update the firmware, but at least it works smoothly
Not useful
Cannot actually be used to configure or control the AVR. Only used for setting up WiFi and Chromecast streaming, and downloading software updates. Far less useful than the comparable Denon app. At least it's responsive.

Mysterious purpose of the app
Used to setup WiFi. Lets you play network radio and podcast. Useless otherwise. This is what airplay is for.

No real MA710 Control
Just downloaded this app to set up the wi-fi connection on a MA710 AVR. It did that but beyond that the app does nothing to control the AVR. Not even volume control. Hope this is a work in progress and that real control of the AVR features will be added.
