I want to love it
I really wanted to love JellyTV. The interface is beautiful, it integrates nicely with Jellyfin, and I liked it enough that I purchased the lifetime plan. Unfortunately, the actual playback experience on Apple TV has been too unreliable for me to recommend it right now.
With HDR10 movies, playback will sometimes suddenly stop, jump backward several seconds, and resume with HDR completely disabled. My projector confirms that the signal changes from 10-bit BT.2020 HDR10 to 8-bit BT.709 SDR, so the picture becomes brighter but noticeably dull and washed out. Restarting the movie immediately restores HDR.
I’ve also had issues with resume position not being remembered consistently, which is a pretty basic function for a media player.
I’ve tested the same Jellyfin server, network, Apple TV, projector, and exact movie files in Infuse, where everything plays correctly, so these issues appear to be specific to JellyTV.
I really hope the developers continue improving the playback engine because there is a lot to like here. But after paying for lifetime access, I expect basics like stable HDR playback and reliable resume positions to work consistently. At the moment, they don’t.

Top!
L’appli gagne à être plus connu, il y’a cependant des ralentissements dans l’accueil, ça casse un peu la dynamique
Best Jellyfin client for iOS tbh
Literally the best jellyfin client I’ve tried so far, its just perfect, really great job.
Best Jellyfin App!
This is the smoothest, nicest, Jellyfin app I’ve used. Definitely recommend!
Amazing UI but playback is a bit broken
The UI is amazing, better than any other app out there (especially supporting landscape viewing without turning off orientation lock). My only problem with it is that some times when I play media I’m greeted with a black screen and other times it freezes for long amounts of time (both issues don’t happen in jellyfin and in both audio keeps playing).
If they can fix that this will definitely be my go to client for jellyfin!
