It's already been over a year...
I miss you every day. I hate Michaels so much, it should've been the other way around. The sign is still up on the Joann I went to growing up, I think despite it being in a busy plaza on a busy road, no one wants to move in because it would be disrespectful to the dead. We all want you back. We miss you. I hope I wake up one day and it was all a bad dream.

Shop closed and no gift card credit
I have a gift card with about $200 on it for JoAnn. I just found that I can’t use it. The app doesn’t work anymore, and it just forwarded you to the Michael’s website. What a shame.

I'm as anti-capitalist as a Soviet during the Cold War. I don't do brand loyalty. I hate brands. I hate corporations. I hate CEOs. The only brand I've ever been sincerely loyal to is Joann. No other craft store can pony up to everything Joann could offer. And now it's gone. My heart has a Joann-shaped hole. Where do I go to buy my bobbins? My Gutermann thread? My snips? My specialty needle threader shaped like a hummingbird? My fabric? My FABRIC???
I feel a deep sense of sadness, shame and anger whenever I go to a craft store that isn't Joann's. Maybe they have physically larger stores. Maybe they have longer aisles full of wood-burning materials and paint-by-numbers kits. Maybe they have self-checkout lanes and crazy discounts. But they don't have anything I NEED. They don't have soul, either. They have the world's smallest fabric section and several overpriced sewing machines, and that's it. I curse the bloodlines of everyone that allowed this to happen. I'd do ritualistic sacrifice to bring Joann back. Please. We miss you.
