App has improved but Sleep Well Challenge has gotten worse and worse

I’ve been using this app for 5 years and use it with great consistency and dedication. The app overall is very good and has improved greatly over the years. However, the sleep well challenge has never worked properly and gotten worse. I know many users, if not all users why try using it, have the same problems I do. They said they fixed it last year, but it’s only gotten worse. I need to call in to vitality support every single time to get my points which is very unfair to the user and a huge waste of time for both me and the vitality staff. If you can’t fix it, why not just replace it with something else that works or just automatically award the points to the user without requiring the user to call in. Each call is 5-15 minutes of time, and because there are 90 days in the sleep well challenge, again, that’s a lot of wasted time for the user and the vitality staff. I will reconsider upgrading my rating if they fix this problem once and for all.

Horrible app

This app is, at best, a 2001 app. It’s horrible. Only partially tracks your activity. The interface isn’t fully functional on a phone, which is the whole point of an app. I’d give it less stars if possible.

Dinosaur

This app cannot track workouts in real time which is ludicrous in 2026. Customer support is almost nonexistent

Frustrating

The app does not let me update anything properly! Desperately trying to put in my payment method and it is not working. The app is constantly freezing and now I’m having to call support once again. Ugh

Weekly Activity Tracking

At least every other week, activity tracking is inaccurate and leaves out a whole day’s steps/calories burned. I miss my goals as a result. I consistently walk enough daily to make the 140 weekly point goal.

Updated After Another Couple Months and Gold Status

Lots more run time.
I won too many gift cards I guess because using the same reliable method as before now suddenly and constantly lands only on points prizes no matter what. No skill effect. If it’s only points then why annoy people with phoney wheel?
The link to watch is working now. The wellness checks and other courses don’t scale or rotate on the iOS phone app, so you have to slide the content back and forth to read it. On iPad it’s still scaled like a phone.

Overall good, but few areas very frustrating

Overall a motivating app that does what it designed to do - provide motivation to help with good health outcomes. Two major annoyances to me - 1) sleep well challenge never works - it’s always disconnected overnight - maybe do to phone lock, but also doesn’t seem to count if you get up even once in the night. Support basically said not to wear my device at night, but then I don’t get the real data it provides.

Second major annoyance - so many areas are not optimized for mobile devices. Answering questions in many of the quizzes/check ins are very annoying due to the formatting.

App used to be good

It’s super annoying to have to log in all the time. I have to put my user name and then autofill my password but there used to be a function of “remember my user name” which isn’t there anymore. This also defeats the ability to do a sleep challenge because the app logs you out so it doesn’t register your sleep. It also used to be easier to just get to your point total. It’s like they don’t want you to enjoy and find the app useful?? Just did the update and still had to put my user name and password in, gets old multiple times a day!

Does not Record Activity Points

Although I am completing activities that are eligible for points and all of my devices are connected to the Vitality App, I end up with Zero activity points week after week. When I report problems via email, generally I receive points for the most recent week, but still no points for prior unrecorded weeks. I don’t have time to request a points review every week. And no one ever offers a solution.

Not receiving points

For the past several months, receiving points have been hit or miss. And the past few weeks, I’ve received zero points for activity that is registering on my other app connected to JH. I’ve reached out before and points were added, but this should be a seamless and automatic transfer of information. I’m missing a few hundred points and I don’t have time to constantly reach out.

Fitness Tracking is poor

I use Whoop as my fitness tracker, and from what I can see, the data is not accurate. I understand the data flows from Whoop - to the Health App - into the Vitality app, but that data never seems accurate. For example, today is shows I have 1500 steps and 59 workout calories burned, when, even after manually freaking, those numbers are almost 11,000 steps and 450 calories. Also, that data only shows for the current day. There not way to check and see if that data properly updated the next day. This should definitely be fixed! Why can’t we check previous days to see what’s been logged??

Not counting steps

App is not updating steps from iPhone health app. Lost several days of workout. Please fix this soon.

It was good

I like the program a lot but ever since the recent update they don’t have a tab for point anymore and I have know idea where to find the itemized point list.

Updated After Another Couple Months and Gold Status

Lots more run time. The link to watch is working now. I like the spins but seems it’s not quite skills based. No matter where I pre-position or vary how hard, it always seems to just……..barely…….come…….short of that lasssst…..little……tick needed for top gift card. Oh well $5 a couple times a month for handing over my data is better than nothing. The wellness checks and other courses don’t scale or rotate on the iOS phone app, so you have to slide the content back and forth to read it. On iPad it’s still scaled like a phone. Anything g offered in iOS should work in iOS.

IOS 17

They are now requiring you to use iOS 17 which I can’t download due to the age of my phone so now I’m blocked out of my app and can’t log anything.

Update not compatible

I am no longer able to access the Vitality app
because it is forcing me to update which I cannot
because my iPhone 8s only supports up to IOS 16,
and the new Vitality update requires iOS 17. You
should allow older versions of the App to work and not force updates. Can’t afford to buy a new phone.

Sleep Well Challenge Needs Tech Support

UPDATE: Tech support fixed the issue and I’m updating my rating to 5 stars. I love this app!!

Overall, I love the app and interact with it daily. I’m beginning my 4th year, and each year I regret attempting the Sleep Well Challenge. This week, I successful made it to Day 19 of the challenge (goal is 20) when the app stopped connecting to my phone. I wasn’t too bothered knowing I had a few more days to log one additional night of sleep. Instead, the app changed my start day to the previous program year and shorted me by 5 days. Instead of receiving 300 points, I was given zero. This portion of the app is beyond frustrating.

Doesn’t Have Face ID or Remember Login, Drops Gym Track

UPDATE: Thanks for response but as I enter app to try to address, I have since yesterday a message “We’re sorry app unavailable while we make updates” What? Who does this? Every other app updates when available then runs. If I were you I would hide my name as app developer. Most decent apps remember user ID or accept Face ID. I have to re enter ID and password each time. I have it set to auto open on iPhone shortcut as soon as a workout ends, but have to stop and enter login. Great idea for an app but seems like the basics like login and finding basic info easily got lost. Latest issue is after you manual login then stand in front of your gym with GPS, reselect it AGAIN (instead of it remembering), and start the 30 min timer to track your location at the gym, the stupid thing drops the timer if the app is not foreground. Had it running with pod app and outlook. Swap back to Vitality and gym timer was off and had to recheck in and start new timer. Why does this app not communicate in background with watch app and not keep the timer running once it starts? Do you people actually ever use it as part of developing?
