Best resource to leant kanji imo. Mogs Anki dare I say. Because with this app, it teaches you the compounds, readings, has an audio for each kanji, and has a stroke order. It’s also proven that one of the best ways to learn and memorise something is to write it, which is one of the uses in this app. It also quizzes you and you yourself can quiz yourself on the kanji you learnt at anytime, making sure you master it. So happy I stumbled across this app and I’m shocked not more people are using and recommending this app. This has made me love kanji, and also made it my favourite part about learning and studying Japanese when in the beginning, I dreaded having to learn kanji.

Die App ist gut

Ich finde es gut das man das auch nachspüren kann und es viele verschiedene Übungen giebt. Aber ich bin erst ganz am Anfang und da muss ich halt 一 als いち oder so wissen also ich weiß jetzt nicht ob das auch wirklich eins ist aber das muss ich halt wissen was ja eigentlich auch das Prinzip ist aber es wird nd gezeigt was was ist aber sonst ist sie sehr gut

Kanji explained.

Hello, I have been using this app for about a month and half now and have taught myself 200 kanji. Thanks for that. However I have a feature request. Could you please add an option to show the kanji learned by the grades as well? Like the Japanese kids learn in Grade 1, Grade 2 and so on. Because each grade covers some kanji from higher JLPT level as well.

Great, but some sensitive kanji when writing

I’ve been using this app for a while and it has been great so far. My only complaint is that some kanjis like 字 and 売 (5th stroke for both) get rejected even though I am able to write it.

Good but has some issues

There are plenty of reviews already explaining the pros of this app, which I agree with and are the reasons I give it some stars. There are plenty of issues though:

-Many kanji have no writing practice at all. This becomes more common as you progress.
-The English definitions by themselves don't always indicate whether a verb is transitive/intransitive, such as 延びる and 伸ばす.
-Sometimes you're given a word with 2 valid kanji, like 岡/丘, 路/道, or 探す/捜すand you can't tell which one to write.
-There are a few cases where a kanji is taught in a lesson and used in a compound word with the same meaning, so you don't know which English definition to pick for JP -> EN when they both show up (E.g. 究 is defined as "research, study" and 研究 is "research," 像 is "image" and 画像 is "image, picture").
-The male pronunciation is not available for all words.
-There is a noticeable delay when writing the first stroke.

Overall it's a good app and I don't regret paying for it, but it could use some fixes.

Costs money

I got this app not relaxing it costs 20 dollars just to be able to use it after Two lessons.

Jay

It’s almost perfect but I took a break for a while and came back with the review section being entirely full…. I don’t have over an hour to do re-do kanji… I wish I could reset the review since I took a break but can’t seem to find a way without resetting the app.

Other than that it’s great for learning kanji, only other notable thing is some work no matter how perfectly you draw it, it thinks you did it wrong, could get a little annoying. Usually with words like 家 and 母

한글 번역 좀 신경써주세요

번역이 너무 이상한 애들이
많아요. 특히 글자 1개인것들. 영어를 같이 표기해주시거나 해석을 달아주시거나 해야 할 것 같습니다.

2 main issue

I enjoy using this app, but I think there are a few areas that could be improved to make studying kanji much more efficient.

1. Review System
The current review system is quite limited. It would be much better to have a more flexible review plan based on a standard spaced-repetition system, allowing users to customize review intervals and focus on weaker kanji.
2. Navigation During Study
When studying kanji on a list page, the kanji are already highlighted. If I open a kanji to study it and then return to the list, the app takes me back to the top of the page instead of the position where I left off. This is frustrating because I have to scroll down and find the next kanji again. The app should remember the user’s position in the list when returning from a kanji page.
3. English Translations
Many kanji and vocabulary entries only show one English translation, and it is often not the most common or natural meaning. Please consider using the most widely used and obvious English translation first, while also providing alternative meanings when appropriate. This would make learning much easier for English-speaking users.

Overall, I think these improvements would greatly enhance the user experience and make the app much more effective for serious JLPT learners.
This part of review is my latest feedback after using everyday for 4 months, because of bad translation of some kanji I have to always check online to find the best and most obvious meaning, there should be at least two main meaning for kanji so it doesn’t waste my time to search online!
So I decided to give it only 2 stars review so they can fix those issues!

Crashes on open

The app doesn't work at all.

Learning kanji

the review helps me remember and the stroke practice is fun

Amazing tool and still has potential to grow

Honestly this is a great app, everything is clear, the instructions are great and honestly there is nothing inherently wrong with it. The only thing I wish this app had was something that I’ve seen a lot of people have in other tools and that would be example sentences when learning the actual kanji. I think knowing what kind of context a kanji is used in would help in memorization. Other than that, this app is great, Ive passed the N3 thanks to it!

Best Kanji App Out There

This app single handedly has all you need to learn Kanji. SRS review system, learning Kanji through vocab, stroke order practice, in app calendar and reminders, kanji readings/definitions, clearly thought out interface???? It’s all right here. For the cohesiveness and price of the app I’d say this is even better than the big websites like WaniKani. Honestly the only thing I can think of that would improve the app is to add a section to learn radicals, but imo, radicals aren’t necessary; however, they will speed up your kanji learning and improve the effectiveness of this app. If anyone’s reading this, I suggest looking into radicals and seeing if you want to go down that route, if yes, I highly suggest just finding a simple radical anki deck and learning 2, 3, 4 radicals a day alongside this app!

Actuellement au a la fin des kanjis N2 sur mon ancien téléphone samsung j’ai voulu reprendre sur mon nouvel iphone mais impossible.. je dois reprendre tout de zero qlors que j’utilise l’appli depuis plus d’un an et demi..
Assez déçu

Response from developer

It is possible, but I haven’t implemented a way to link your two accounts in the app yet. Please email me at support@lulilanguages.com and I will help you link them. Sorry for the trouble!

Great app, menu update needed

This is an amazing app for keeping up on my kanji!
The menu is clunky though with big icons and sub menus with minimal descriptions making it hard to navigate and pick up where you left off. Fix that and it would be perfect.

Study opportunities

I really like the custom study and writing, but I’d like to see some new ways of learning and studying kanji more effectively, like flash cards. And maybe actual tests?…

Perfect no notes

One million percent the best kanji learning app ive ever laid my eyes upon

I love this app

As a Japanese person who didn’t grow up speaking it, but being surrounded by language through family and frequent visits, I find this app helps me learn kanji really well.

The only effective way to learn kanji is to just practicing reading, writing and reviewing them, and I really love how this app introduces new kanji to study and practice.

I use a notepad on the side to further practicing my writing and drilling, but I ways find myself learning and understanding why the kanji build up the way they do.

This app does a good job at building up the complexity by introducing base kanji before hand.
