Problems with Green / Red Colored Kanji
I love this app so much, been using it for two years! I just noticed that if you have “Japanese to English Only” enabled then if you review particular kanji they never turn green from that red screen! Please fix this!!

This app is exactly what I’ve been looking for years now. I thought I could get away with memorizing vocab and not learning kanji, but being able to recognize kanji in and out if context has been incredibly helpful, even after just working through N5. The word categorization when learning words is very helpful; I wish it was a feature on more apps like Memrise. I’m on N4 words now, totally worth the flat rate price of the app (probably costs less than a subway sandwich these days). Thanks so much for this app!!

Stop changing word translations out of nowhere
Changing word translations without keeping any connection to the previous ones completely ruins the purpose of this app. This is a mnemonics-based learning tool where users rely on consistent associations to memorize vocabulary. Vocabulary memorization is already challenging enough without the app abruptly switching to a completely different set of words.
When you change the translations out of nowhere, you erase all the mental anchors and progress users have worked hard to build. Please stop altering established translations or at least provide a way to reference the original ones so we do not lose our memory hooks.

Best I’ve found but still janky
I just passed N2 using just this and Nihongo (GOAT of a translation app) so I need to give this some credit. I practice the Kanji here but then check each one within Nihongo for better definitions, etymology, and example sentences. (An app that merged these two would be epic). Critiques are that Ive found errors in furigana and definitions, and I pass some kanji even when I write a different one, while failing others when I wrote the correct one. Also stuck with coin-flipping whether the app wants me to draw 川vs 河, 蔵vs庫, and 長vs永 since they have the same reading and definition.

Sorry for these issues! I recently changed many definitions to be able to differentiate between words. Please update the app and let me know if any issues remain.
Great app overall
Great app to learn Kanji and vocabulary.
Was experiencing a bug that was promptly fixed by the devs.
It would be great if there was an export option so that we can do further reviews or merge with existing decks on Anki. Currently there’s no way to see vocabulary progress.

Good but could be great.
For twenty dollars it’s good for learning kanji. I was able to get familiar with certain ones. Although the writing system was pretty bad just making you repeat it in a way that was honestly confusing. The app is a little boring but good for studying. It’s definitely worth it if your prepping for kanji test or just want to get more familiar with them

Need radicals support
This app is heaven but misses radicals and one sentence per kanji
Started bugging out
I’m midway into the N3 lessons and the app has started bugging out. The “review past due” button has stopped working, and if it somehow goes through, it snaps back to the lesson selection screen after a few reviews.
At this point the app is unusable, and since it has no way to export progress, I will have to move everything manually to Anki.
The devs are also completely unresponsive to tickets.
I expect more from a paid app. Not recommended.

Great value for money
I’ve tried learning kanji many ways but this app is super helpful. I like the audio that’s included, the separate levels, and learning one word of all uses of on’yomi and kun’yomi for each kanji is fantastic. I like how you can click on the kanji to see common compounds too, and customize review lessons and how often to review. Great ideas.
In future I’d like to see an option to review all the words (similar to all the kanji), and to be able to see how long my learning streaks are (I know it’s more than a month but I cant see how much). Plus if they had a widget option showing all the learnt kanji that’d be cool as too.
Overall an incredibly easy to use customizable kanji app that I just adore.

I'm glad you like it! Please try the 'Show Daily Goals' setting in the settings menu for your learning streak. And I'll work on the other features you mentioned.
Pricing
The app overall is a 5, but you only get a few lessons before you need to pay to unlock all.
Can’t use cross-platform
I purchased the full version on Android through Google Play and would really like to use it on my iPad as well. Unfortunately, the iPad version doesn't recognize my Android purchase when I try to restore it. Please consider supporting cross-platform purchases or providing a way to transfer purchases between Android and iOS. I love the app and would happily continue using it on both devices.

N1 lessons
This app is hands down the best app, but the N1 lessons are unfortunately buggy. The old female voice is still there which is kind of jarring because the rest of the lessons have been updated with really good voices, and the old female voice sounds a bit robotic and muddled. Plus the lessons that feature that voice tend to be pretty buggy. Lag, brush strokes not registering, audio cutting out with headphones on etc. But all in all this app is incredible. Just minor things.

I love it AND RECOMMEND IT FOR BEGINNERS
It was honestly a game changer it helps you write it and remember it and it comes with all the lessons and it gets genuinely helped me with Japanese as a full time beginner : ) and honestly it doesn't teach you how to speak it but it comes with many other lessons on kanji which is such a win win it doesn't ask for cash and isn't behind a huge paywall like other apps I TOTALLY RECOMMEND FOR BEGINNINGERS

Amazing
I never review anything, but this app is genuinely insane. I learn so quickly on this app compared to any other kanji practice method. While in Japan I was quickly learning new kanji that made everyday easier. Tip, do not over do it or your reviews will become insanely long.
