This app is very helpful and is a very good investment, tho I think the kanji progression grid is bugged and doesn’t show the correct color progress at the moment
One of the best
I’ve been reviewing dozens of kanji learning apps and this one is at the top with Ringotan. You really need multiple apps bc each one gives a little different context or it looks slightly different so it helps you recognize it in the real world. I just wish this app gave practice sentences and other contextual practice instead of just writing, but compared to what else is available this is great.

Good but needs work
Pros: The app is fairly intuitive, kanji writing detection is accurate for the most part, semi-decent set of vocabulary and app / general learning method makes it relatively straight forward to memorise kanji.
Cons: Currently only up to start of N3 kanji but noticed there appears to be quite a few words for certain kanji missing the more I go along. E.g. no 試験 (exam), 失礼(discourtesy/excuse me) 葉っぱ (leaf), 様 (honorific suffix), 了解 (understood) etc etc
Many of them are very frequently used in day to day Japanese so it’s strange they’re missing.
Some of the English meanings given to certain kanji are too similar to each other and easy to mess up when asked to guess the Japanese hiragana answer from the English meaning e.g. “research, study” for 究 (which isn’t used standalone anyway as far as I know) and then “research” for 研究. In these instances the English description could probably stand to be a bit more clear like “research (not standalone)”, similar to how it shows up under the kanji.
