Notification Spam Despite Opting Out
This app spams you with useless notifications promoting offers (like “buy a car”), despite turning off marketing notifications in the app’s settings. Unfortunately, turning off all notifications isn’t a solution because then you will miss messages from potential buyers in the app. Despite using this platform for almost a decade, the spammy notifications from Kijiji have been so bad that I’ve now removed all my listed items and will be deleting the app for good. Alternatives like Facebook Marketplace and Karrot exist with bigger audiences to sell to anyways.

Promotions
Even with notification preferences set to not send me promotional notifications, this app still feels the need to impose itself. I don’t care how useful your app is, there are lines that shouldn’t be crossed. This is one. I will always delete this app the moment it has served its purpose.

Jul9-2026: the Review feature for buyer and seller is not working. Hasn’t been working for at least 2 months now

Fix the APP or just completely shut it down. It won’t load. When it does, it will then say no internet connection and yet I have a full bar. Everything else will load except this app. Rather than fixing the issue, developers decided to put in a code that will generate a message blaming other things when the app won’t work. SHAME!!!

Got an out of the blue push notification telling me to buy a car
Sends ad notifications even when disabled
I specifically disabled Marketing notifications but I keep getting notifications like “buy a car from your Canadian Community”.

Does not respect notification preferences
Despite deselecting all notifications except direct messages from buyers and sellers, the app periodically pops up marketing notifications (e.g., "Buy a new car from Canadian sellers!"). This behaviour is extremely obnoxious.
Glitchy
Constant notifications that don’t resolve, chat glitching out

They just did the most stupid update ever. Everything is so slow a keeps freezing and not loading any messages saying adds been removed wen it hasn’t been. Does not send you notification anymore so you end up missing all your messages or sells not worth the headache anymore. And have to pay for more than one listen. This is why I use facebook I can post as much as I want for free. Kijiji not worth my time I sell more on facebook than Kijiji.

Very bad design flaw
You do a search, you scroll down and find an ad you might be interested in. You click on it and check it out. You’re done looking at said ad so now you press “back” and go back to the results. The app immediately goes back to the top of the search page. Why would you design it that way?! Now I have to scroll down and look to where I left off. What a waste of time.
