They start each program with littaly 5 minutes of ads 30 seconds was ok but this is terrible
It has almost all the good features of tv app except for the ability to skip adds
Horrible update
The redesigned app lacks a basic menu, search bar and dark mode. The ads are invasive. There’s no way to search for a story or find articles about your favorite team. For a news organization that prides themselves on excellence, their app is a massive miss.

Weather update
I’m not happy with the recent changes to the weather section. I used to read the detailed weather forecast every day, and now it’s nowhere to be found. It’s been replaced by a weather forecaster’s 20-second summary of the weather via shaky handheld phone, which is not insightful at all.
Update Bad
I loved this app until this morning. No more seagull and app won’t load on any device.
New App SUCKS
The new app update that completely redesigned the app is total garbage. A huge down-grade, full of spam advertisements, terrible loading times, ugly layout and sloppy looking articles. Looks more like a knock-off click-bait news source now, not an actual place for reliable information.
Don’t like recent update
I mainly use the KING 5 app to read the weather forecast, but it’s either been removed or impossible to find with the recent update. All I see are a bunch of videos which is not how I want to consume the news.

Fonts are a Mess!
Headline fonts are gigantic and article text fonts are teeny tiny making text almost impossible to read. Text font size doesn’t respond to iPhone text size changes either. Recent app updates are a disaster making the app useless. AND the news is very stale these days!
Updated app sucks
I used to regularly check the King 5 for local news updates and weather. The updated and remodeled app has made the whole experience not worth my time. Clunky, not intuitive, and frustrating. Bye, local news. ☹️
Bring back dark mode!
Update: Forced to use the light mode on this app can be managed, but seeing nearly pornographic ai generated ads on this news app, with NO way of reporting these ads, is very disturbing. Why am I being subjected to pillows and clothes meant to look like female intimate anatomy in ads. Absolutely shameful King 5 and Tegna, do better.
Been using this app for nearly 6 years now, they finally updated the app a few days ago and my god is it unusable. Forced white background, unable to conform with my devices local dark mode strings is very troubling to me, as I use white text on a black background due to a visual impairment, but unfortunately this app, King 5, and Tegna don’t care about disabled Americans being able to consume news. Absolutely shameful, and to think I’ve always considered King 5 to be the preeminent news service in the region; I cannot in good conscience continue to believe and recommend that to others when they so blatantly disregard the accessibility needs to their disabled readers. Absolutely SHAMEFUL! DO BETTER

Unnecessary Update
A lot of features that were convenient and had me using the app suddenly no longer exist. Clips and segments have completely replaced long form videos and entire broadcast. I wish the reel/tiktok tab had just been an addition instead of a replacement for videos.
