Land Now 1.3 adds new update notifications, expanded airport communications and weather-service information, and additional improvements to Airport Details. NEW — Database Update Notifications Land Now can now notify you when a newer airport database is available. This makes it easier to know when updated airport data is ready to download instead of requiring you to manually check for an update. NEW — App Version Notifications Land Now can now notify you when a newer version of the app is available, helping you stay current with new features, improvements, and fixes. NEW — Airport Communications Airport Details now include important airport communication information when available in the FAA data: • CTAF frequencies • Control tower frequencies • Primary and secondary tower frequencies when applicable • Multiple tower frequencies when an airport uses more than one NEW — Airport Weather Services Airport Details now provide more information about on-field weather reporting services when available: • ATIS information and frequencies • ASOS/AWOS service identification • ASOS/AWOS frequencies • Weather observation telephone numbers • Additional weather telephone numbers when available • Identification of the weather station when the reporting station differs from the selected airport Telephone numbers are displayed as tappable links on supported devices, making it easier to call an airport weather observation directly. IMPROVED — Airport Details Airport information has been expanded while keeping the screen organized around information useful when evaluating a potential landing airport. The Quick Summary provides distance, ETA, turn-to heading, recommended runway, wind components, runway information, and weather update time. Weather Service and Communications information is now available directly on the Airport Details screen when data is available. IMPROVED — Runway and Weather Information Land Now combines current weather information with runway data to identify the best runway based on reported wind conditions. Airport Details display the recommended runway along with calculated headwind/tailwind and crosswind components. METAR and TAF information remains available in decoded and raw formats, including nearby weather fallback information when local observations or forecasts are unavailable. DATA AND RELIABILITY IMPROVEMENTS Version 1.3 includes additional refinements to airport information and fixes to ensure weather-service information is displayed consistently when viewing airports from Land Now results and Airport Search. Land Now is a decision-support utility and is not a substitute for official flight planning, navigation, weather, NOTAM, or airport information. Pilots remain responsible for verifying current conditions and determining whether an airport and runway are suitable for use.
